DOA used to be a joke, but now it's basically Virtua Fighter, with slightly different controls. I consider both to be good, now.

That's an overstatement, as VF is an incredibly deep fighter and DOA still has a very "rock/paper/scissors" approach between strikes, throws, and counters for every character. DOA is fun, no doubt, and it's a lot more approachable than SFIV, Tekken or VF, but I wouldn't hold it in nearly the same level of esteem as those other fighting games.

Boob Simulator for the Win.
As Byshop already mentioned its very "Rock Paper Scissory" in its design but I find that much more enjoyable than Tekken's Ankle Juggling Attacks. Atleast in DOA you have a chance to Break Free. And you don't wrestle with the Controls.
Tekken is much better technicaly but I prefer DOA. I like DOA but Its the wrestling of fighting games. Its fun, loud, and entertaining as hell, but not really legit.
@BranKetra: Why should I add anything when 95% of GS consists of trolls?
There are less trolls on this site than that. If you do not wish to do what Games Discussion, Primary Games Discussion, and General Games Discussion regulars before that have done to maintain the quality of this forum, please refrain from making threads. It is not forbidden, but a request.
@BranKetra: If I want your opinion, I will ask for it. This is a POLL. No text is required. All I'm asking is whether or not someone prefers DOA, Tekken, Both, or Neither. It doesn't require a thousand paragraphs. You wanna conversate, that's what the messaging feature is for. Or just ask the creator of the topic what their opinion is on the matter and they'll respond. In forums, you give out opinions on things. Conversating in forums usually leads to trolling. Which I'm trying to avoid due to past experiences.
@septimus99: Yeah same. That's why I play DOA more than Tekken. Tekken 5 was the last good Tekken game imo.
@Jacanuk
Its the lil things that matter. :)
@mattykovax
It is Legit.... If you can play it long enough that you don't notice the jiggling anymore then you'l see that depth hidden underneath.
Ehh...Its got some depth mostly in the counter reversal system, But I don't think its coincidence that even the makers now call it fighting entertainment. And as I said I think its a blast, I don't hate on DOA, but its just not at the level of lots of other fighters in my opinion. Case in point, I like Mortal Kombat best out of all the fighters but other than maybe 3 and the remake I don't consider that series legit either.
@mattykovax
Why are say these hurtfull things :( ?
But seriously though..... What is it about DOA that turns away hardcore players ?
sorry, not sure.
@mattykovax
I remember the 1st time I played it...... I was not ready, not for that. :p. I lost my 1st 20 fights.... My 1st win coindentally only came when I decided to use a guy instead. ;)...
Yeah That is usually how it happens.

Look, no one is asking for too much. Poll threads are generally not allowed, but I am giving yours a free pass because you seem to be a new user. It is really as simple as that. Whatever your past forum experiences are should not cause you to make a forum worse by making poll threads with no content in the opening post.
I will say it again: Threads exactly like this are usually closed, but users gave it a chance. Please keep that in mind in the future when making threads or they will be closed. Thank you for understanding.
@BranKetra: I'm not a new user. In case you haven't noticed, I've been here for 4 years. If poll threads aren't allowed, then why does the feature exist? Don't pick on someone just because their threads aren't to your liking. You're a mod not a critic. Your job is to help the creators of GS enforce the rules of the site. Know your place. I'm not breaking the forum rules so there's no need for you to bother me. Don't let your personal feelings or preferences cloud your judgment. As I said before, if you're gonna bother someone just because their threads aren't the way you want them to be, then maybe you should consider not saying anything. I'm not breaking the rules (which you obviously need to read) so leave me alone and go bother someone else.
@PiscesAnimeGirl: Calm down with the attitude. I am not picking on you at all. I said you seem to be new because you have less than three hundred posts and before recently, I have not seen you create a thread here. Plus, I have been a regular of this forum for years. I think it is safe to say I know how things work here, who the regulars are, and the common courtesies that users expect of one another. Unless you have been lurking this whole time, addressing you as such would be right because you do not seem to know how this forum works. It is not about my personal preferences. In Games Discussion, poll threads, i.e. threads with just a poll and no opening post, are either discouraged or forbidden in this form. That is not in the rules currently, but it has been in the past which is why moderators continue to enforce it. I am really not sure why it is missing considering we are in a forum which is a discuss things. After all, it is called Games Discussion.
If you disagree with the way things work here (not my personal feelings or preferences like you said), you are welcome to PM the community managers and talk about it in the Bug Reporting and Feedback Forum. Have a nice day.
@BranKetra
I'd feel much better if you apologised to the "Boob Simulator"..... Its very insecure you know. ;)
Funny that you would say that considering that Dead or Alive has some of the most assertive females in gaming. Kasumi, Tina, and Lei Fang as well as the others are all strong-willed.
@BranKetra
Thats very true.... It took me a while to see the person inside....
I like Mila in the sense that her will is still in the process of stengthening. Shes trying to find her place. Too bad her move list sucks ass ! So its Tina for me ! :p I don't like Ayane... Shes so up tight and lacks the grace and elegance of Kokoro... But damn shes fast, she can twist and turn back and forth all over the battlefield.
