there are consistantly thousnads of people playing this game online,at all times of day.

i personally enjoy playing it and while i hate some things eg,when someone shoots at you after you have taken cover and yet you still die and the amount of sore losers and haters that clog up the airwaves,i still find myself playing it regularly.

the majority of my time is spent enjoying the tight controls and well fought firefights.

sorry haters but the good parts of this game more than make for the negative pionts imo.

Popular games always get the haters. Usually they are a very vocal minority.

I don't think much about the COD series, wartime shooters just bore me, but I won't waste time hating on it.

Modern Warfare 2 was really fun for me. A real time waster, but a very fun one at that. ;) It kind of reminds me of Final Fantasy XIII. Both games are really popular, so they get a lot of haters. I love both games though. :P

By the way, that is one awesome avatar.

i liked MW2 as well. the single player was a bit shallow and 2 dimensional, but still interesting. the online was also alot of fun.

people who hate on MW2 really want to get noticed. its best to just ignore them. trolls dont need more food.

No, people who passionately hate the game and call me an idiot for liking it are trolls. Alot of people cant just say "I dont like the game".

It's a decent game. It's single player was short but sweet and I liked it, but I didn't like online play, or at least the one I played which was some sort of deathmatch.

A polished turd of a game. The online community is the fratsiest this side of Madden. The game awkwardly chisels in pointless and infuriating RPG elements. Hardcore modes, or rather, the segments that require "Skill" devolve into campfests. The only thing I love about it is the implementation of one of the most broken utility items in any online game. The riot shield is the only thing that gets me to hop my friend's boxes and play.

Though, it did accomplish all it wanted, which is more than many games can say, its audience obviously does not include me. It is the standard for cookie cutter FPS's out there, and sets the bar well.

I liked it a lot, but I'm not a hardcore FPS guy and I've never played BFBC2. Which, from what I've heard, makes MW2 look feeble.

But I really enjoyed beating the spec ops missions solo. I found them pretty challenging. The campaign was a little weird.

Yes, the game is amazing, the only reason it sucks now online, is because people resort to cheating and ruin it for others. They should all be banned!

MW2 should of been great. But the fact is, that it's just a rehashed COD4 thats been downgraded.

Also the fact that the devs made fun of their fans and customers.

The only people who support the game are those that don't follow gaming news, and don't truely play a lot of games constantly.

So just because a majority likes it, doesn't mean they are right.

Its a fun enough game...is it fantastic no but is it good yes. The only reason it has so many haters is because it is ridiculously popular. Look how many haters Halo 3 generated. If Bad Company 3 (assuming there will be one) is too similar to Bad Company 2 and sells over 7m units you can expect to see people hating on it as well.

I hear a lot of people complain about MW2, even those that actually play it. The truth is MW2 is only the 2nd shooter I've really played online... the first being Killzone 2. As far as I'm concerned MW2 is pretty cool. The campaign was ok and I do get a lot of enjoyment out of online play (despite the annoyance of campers, blatant racism etc...), but again keep in mind that this is only the 2nd shooter I've played and this is the first CoD game I've played. Most of the complaints I hear are from people saying that MW2 isn't as good as previous CoD entries.

Single Player = One of the most amazing thrill rides with atmosphere and quality production on any game I've ever played.

Spec Ops = Awesome coop goodness.

Multiplayer = Bug/glitch cheaters who are all level 70 with the best perks and guns and will essentially drop anyone from a mile away even if they dont cheat. Im sick of burying 5 shots into someone's chest and they just knife me from 50 feet away. Worst idea for multiplayer ever. Halo/Unreal Tournament style = best way for weapons to be obtained outside of class based games.

Online, Bad Company 2 is what I prefer. Yet, I still think MW2 is a good game. Multiplayer is a mess most of the time, but I enjoy jumping into the campaign for some arcade shooting fun every once in a while. I also love the music in the game, and I thought the visuals/audio were awesome. The game gets too much hate I think. It's not something I play for long stretches anymore, but more of a pick up and play kind of thing to kill some time.

I'm one of those who plays it because I'm pretty much guaranteed to get a decent online competitive match. It's not a particularly in-depth shooter, but it's good for a bit of fun for an hour or so - then it gets stale...

The hate is because of the simplified aka mainstreamed game mechanics. People want their "hardcore" experience aka skill-oriented shooter (see CS 1.6), and not a "casual party game" that is reflex based.

For what it is, I like it. Though it's not the shooter of choice when it comes down to skill.

Or maybe it's also the fact that the devs are douchebags that ruined a good game?

Because last time I checked, COD4 has almost identical gameplay as MW2, yet its an amazing game.

I hate it. With every inch of my body. But not for the reasons you might expect. I don't like the game personally as i have found War games to become quite rubbish. I used to like them don't get me wrong, MoH and the first CoD were great. Conflict Nam was always high on my list as well, great game. But aside from Wolfenstein i have not bought a war game in years. I have played them of course on the off chance one may spark my interest again but other than that. My little brother got MW2 and i just did not like it one bit, but my hatred comes not from the game it's self, but from the people that milk it something rotten. Same with Halo, First was amazing, 2nd was good, 3rd was alright, Wars sucked big time, ODST was a good enough of a game but i got tired of it very fast, though i played the Beta of Halo R the other day, Not bad at all. I just get sick of hearing about them which builds up inside and comes out in angry outbursts in the Game shop ;) I mean come on, Would you not get sick of reading the same book all day every day, over and over?

I like Modern Warfare 2 alot. The single-player campaign is very good, pulling off a Russian invasion of the US in a dramatic and believable fashion. The finishing levels are awesome, too. I also like the multiplayer and the ranking system.

The reason most hardcore players hate it is because they simply made it into a Halo game with a Modern Day look/feel. Energy Sword Lunge = Commando. Falling from a 5 story building and surviving because of Commando Pro = Halo's 5 foot-NFD jump, and as for the weapons, they are basically Halo's Battle Rifle, in full auto.

Oh, and getting killed by a shotgunfrom more than 10 feet away is just totally wrong.

The MP was a total screw up. SP is great, and Spec Ops' only kryptonite is having only 2 players.

WTH are you talking about? It has nothing to do with it being a casual game. IF its about dedicated servers, well they are easier to use then matchmaking.

I'm talking about the fact the devs make fun of the customers and fans for no reason. Insulting us just to do it. And charge money for rehashed maps.

I liked it just fine. I'm not a hardcore online FPS player though so I didn't experience a lot of the stuff people complain about. A little bit of online goes a long way for me so I played it for about ten levels and stopped, even though I guess I liked it. I played through the single player twice and some of the spec ops and had a good time with it.

I'm talking about that you don't need to be a good aimer anymore. The cursor just has to be somwhere on a player, regardless of how far away he/she is. I mean, you can take out a sniper from a far distance with a simple rifle. So yeah, aiming = gone. The game is based on the fastest reflex, not the skilled aiming. That's what makes it accessible to the casual crowd.
