Not only do I still have my original NES but it still works and is connected to my AV amp too!

Currently connected I have:

NES

Wii

PS3

Xbox (Original)

It was bought for me many years ago by my parents. Got a lot of love for that little box!

Gotta be at least half a dozen in my storage room,

The bane of collecting games is often in order for you to score a solid lot on eBay you need to take a console back as well.

This might be useful http://www.vc-reviews.com/reviews

I swear even though it's a Virtual Console site there used to be a site for retro gaming made by the same peeps

I went to have a nose about the forums but the forum server is down :(

Games I loved on my NES: Mario Series, Mega Man 2&3, Tetris, Kirby's Adventure, Super Off Road, Battletoads (ridiculously hard), Ducktales, Bubble Bobble, Digger T Rock, The Fantastic Adventures of Dizzy, Micromachines, Gauntlet, Lemmings, Shadow Warriors (Ninja Gaiden), Bionic Commando

Of those I would say the ones that stand up today are Mario, Mega Man, Bubble Bobble, Tetris, Shadow Warriors (Ninja Gaiden). Super Off Road and Bionic Commando perhaps

That's just from my collection. You got Metroid, Zelda, Castlevania, Track and Field and loads of others I never bought

Random-ish question - Did anyone ever play Shadowgate?

Yep, still got mine, and it's hooked up.

In fact, at a flea market a couple months back, I even bought two games I used to rent a lot back when I rented games from local video stores. Conquest of the Crystal Palace and The Battle of Olympus. The former an action side-scroller from Quest, the folks who later were made a name for themselves with Tactics Ogre. (They've since been absorbed into the 'Squeenix' conglomerate). The latter is a Zelda II-ish type side-scroller adventure....and a long one at that. It was better executed IMHO, and proves satisfying when beaten....being an unashamedly hard game.

I need a copy of the first Zelda, and Castlevania II: Simon's Quest. I played those games to no end back in those days. Would love to do another run through of both quests in the former, and I'd for once like to tackle CV II legitimently.....no passwords or anything.

Yes I do and about 400 games, as stated in other posts the best way to get a load of good games is to find a Lot off ebay at a good price. Thats where many of mine have come from.

Castlevania I & II are now on the Virtual Console but only Zelda II not Zelda

400 Games - Wow. My house is full of so much crap I have no idea where I'd put 400 games. Are you aiming to get them all? I wonder if any of mine are worth much...actually...I'm not sure I could part with them TBH

I was trying to get them all but haven't purchased any for about 2 years. Many games do bring good money, Finaly fantasy, Super dodge ball, and any of the Megaman games bring decent money. If you have the original boxes and manuals you can get alot more for games. I never really cared about that just wanted the cartridges. I'll get back on my quest for all of them one of these days, its quite fun.

Well since you're not using them, I'm sure you wouldn't mind giving away one to someone here who was never lucky enough to own one, right? ;)

I still have NES. However, it needs to replace 72 pin connector.

I liked NES games-

Crystallis, Super Mario Bros 1&3, The Legend of Zelda, Shadowgate, Dragon Warrior 3, King of Beach, and others.

Of the guys that had Shadowgate, how far did you get with that game?

I got stuck many years ago quite near the beginning and it really pissed me off

Wondering if I should re-visit it...

Saw some screens of Battle of Olympus - Forgot all about that game until I heard it's name and looked up the screens!

God I really want to play NES now :(

Duck Hunt should've been a free VC DL for anyone that bought the zapper

How can such a classic not have made it to Wii VC! ?

Second game I ever played on the NES...ah...happy days :)
