It doesn't really bother me. I don't buy it. If you don't want it I suggest you do the same. For those that do want it then they can have it. I think the series is overrated but there alot of people that disagree with me and that is who Microsoft caters to in this case.

No way. Halo has a very huge fanbase, and a very big community. There are tons of fan-made movies, comics, and art for Halo. There really doesn't seem to be another online game that is on par with Halo's community.

They aren't milking a game franchise by producing quality games over and over again, nor is it milking to make action figures or books to go with it especially considering Halo wasn't just created randomly. It actually is a book.

I actually really liked the Halo novels. They were written by well-known and received authors.

Can you name any franchise that isn't milked? It's a business at the end of the day, and Bungie is out to make money.

Anything with the Halo name will sell, and sell big.

Bungie's still making a new FPS-- Halo 3: Recon. Microsoft as the rights to the series though, which is why Ensemble made the prequel RTS. It expands on the series' universe yes, but it's not necessary to your enjoyment of the series. :?

Because the Halo Universe is very diverse. There is so much to it and so much that can be made from it. The games are only a taste of it, the novels expand and enrich the universe far more than the games in my opinion.

It's the Star Wars effect. A lifetime is not enough to browse the pile of tat with the star wars logo on. Halo is trying to copycat.

Oh sure, I don't blame any company for doing what they're doing as long as they do it with effort. Blizzard is arguably just as hung up with Warcraft, except that it went the other way (kindof). Heck, even Lucas Arts is that way with Star Wars. As long as they keep adding decent content and story lines, along with well done presentations. The prime example of how not to do this is Steven King...

Ignore the title, just pay attention to the clip ;)

It worked for Nintendo and their Mario. Heck, they had their own TV show at one point.

I don't think you could say they've gone too far with Halo, look at Mario they've milked that for all its worth and they still make great games with it, personally I don't think Halo will be going too far until we see "Super Master chief cart racing"

All I want is ODST and a big budget movie that can compete with Transformers 2 and the latest Terminator movie. Halo 4 in about five years would be nice too. The winning numbers to saturday's lottery would be appreciated too. I would also like to plow through considerably more bean fields ! ;)

Unfortunatly, we don't always get what we want !

Mario IS Nintendo.

These next two Halo titles are stepping away from the Halo icon, Master Chief.

Its just a hot phase for the series, not a stand as the overall icon for Microsoft gaming.

Good point. At least Master Chief has a gimmick. Mario is just a plumber...
