Does anyone think Peter Jackson will be good or bad for the Halo franchise?

How come it feels like nobody cares or hypes about Peter Jackson and Halo? Just wondering what everyone thinks about Jackson's involvement with Halo?

Do you think it will be good or bad for the franchise?

My biggest curiosity is what he'll do with it. Will it be a epic like FPS or do you think will it be something else? I can't imagine it being nothing other than a FPS. The only other genre that seems to work is a RTS, which makes sense. But I wonder what Jackson is thinking. Anyway, just wonderinghow everyone feels about this.

Maybe Peter Jackson was the reason that scared Bungie off to go independant because he was so controlling and wanted to do everything his own way and Bungie didn't want to go through with it? Who knows, right? :P

I think he'll do great things with the franchise. Just reading about the vision he and Blomberg had for the Halo movie was inspiring (the movie was supposed to be an as realistic as possible sci fi war movie, think Starship Troopers meets Saving Private Ryan. They had planned to use LOTS of gore, shaky cams and wierd camera angles to achieve it. I suppose one of the reasons Fox pulled out of the deal was the fact that this probably wasn't what they wanted the movie to be, I bet they just would've wanted a Michael Bay blockbuster).

The halo story universe is so huge you could make any kind of game in it, but my bet would be Jackson's game is some kind of adventure game, as MS have stated it's neither a movie nor a game but some wierd symbiosis. Sounds like an adventure game to me.

Yeah, with a unknown director who never made a feature length film before.That's probably one of the reasons why investors backed out. A insane balooning budget, three hour movie, and a unknown director...too much ofa risk. If I was a investors or executive prodcucer at a studio, I'd have doubts and back out as wel.

But I'm talking about the games. That's still planned. I just saw the Wikipedia thing and I'm losing interest. It's more cinematic than a game and it's episodic. I don't know about that. I thought it'd be full FPS games that continues Halo

But I guess not. Jackson looks like he wants to be more cienematic than make a game. I'll pass.
