This thread is all kinds of weird. You got Dead Space that promotes gore and Dismemberment and you want a filter? :? That's like me buying Worms and complaining it looks like a cartoon.
[QUOTE="lamprey263"]no, and they couldn't have added a gore filter without drastically changing the game, "strategic dismemberment" is an essential part of the gameplayCelldrax
Pretty much. The game would also be quite frightening if you couldn't shoot off their limbs :o
And a lot less gory. :PGore is central to the gameplay, and, as others have stated, it wouldn't be DS without it. The games are hyper violent, and if you don't like that, don;t play them.
I disagree with you guys saying gore adds to the game. You can still do the dismemburment (?), its just that there wouldn't be 85 trillion gallons of blood and bile and who knows what else flying all over the place. Lord of the Rings: War In The North has a gore filter where blood can be turned off. So instead of heads, limbs and every slice and arrow producing blood, there's no blood at all. Just the head being removed, nothing more nothing less.
I think if you remove the gore then you take away from the game. As the player, having chunks of flesh and streams of blood and putrid liquid flying all over the place allows you to be immersed and feel like you are really there in the scene having to get rid of the threats. It's like watching Debbie Does Dallas with censor blocks. Sure you can imagine what is happening behind the black bars, but you sure won't feel very immersed.I disagree with you guys saying gore adds to the game. Well, I'm fine with the gore. But it's a lot easier to get my parents to let me get it. :)AlvinsuperzapWho says you need their permission? >:D
Because they're the ones who bring me to Gamestop and are there when I check out. :(AlvinsuperzapAlthough, if I have my dad bring me, I might have a better chance. ;)
I'd say the game wouldn't have any meanings without that whole gore/violence factors. The game is pretty good indeed, though I would not recommend playing this to someone underage. It has its moments that will scare the **** out of you.
That's what I'm hoping it'll do. :)It has its moments that will scare the **** out of you.

"Manning up" has nothing to do with violence. Those "mature" players are usually the most immature people around.[QUOTE="Ilovegames1992"]
Its all about the gore. Do you have a man-up option? If so, turn it on before you play.

The gore is part of the game. I don't think it's immature to enjoy that.

Agreed. There's a difference between downright freaky and disbustring and mindless killing one after the other.I'm a teenager and I play it, because I don't care what anybody else thinks I'm 'mature' enough to enjoy or not. Besides, it's not liked I asked and was turned down, because I didn't ask at all. :PI don't think it has a gore filter. It would be nice for parents who want to let an older kid or teenager play it, or for people who are just turned off by the gore.
