I can understand wanting to test out the MP portion of a game when it's actual released, testing out the servers, players, etc, but beyond that, Gamespot is pathetic with its reviews now. I remember waiting to see the review on UT3 for the 360...and I waited...and I waited...until finally it showed up...a MONTH after the game was released. Ever since Jeff and the others left this site, it's been nothing but jokes concerning its reviews.
Wanted: Weapons of Fate has been up since yesterday, though the Wheelman review is still absent. Not a lot of reviewers are working for GameSpot often. I'm still waiting for the Wheelman and Wanted: Weapons Of Fate Reviews.

Wanted: Weapons of Fate has been up since yesterday, though the Wheelman review is still absent. Oh. Well, I was looking for the PC Review. Thanks for telling me though.GameSpot is no longer what it once was. Most of the key people in making this website big and maintaining it are working for different websites/companies now.NarutoConsidering what happened to Mr. Gerstmann, I'd say that's now true. Fact is, some of the best reviewers for the site have left to pursue other things, such as Greg Kasavin, Joe Fielder, Alex Navarro, and a few of others that were my favorites. I still can't believe these idiots pursued to fire Mr. Gerstmann for just his opinion over Kane & Lynch. A journalist is supposed to tell the facts to the people and that's what he did and these idiots (CNet, Eidos, etc) didn't like what they heard, so they fired him. What a load of bull...
Alot of reviewers left and CNET hasn't refilled some of those positions.
Exactly, they are understaffed atm, its hard for 5-6 people to review every game to come out.. If that's their day job, no, not really. I mean, yeah every SINGLE game you can't do. You'd have to have a ton of staff. But the big hitters are easy. My friends and I are working on just doing Xbox 360 right now and between three of us we've played pretty much every game released in the last two months.[QUOTE="Naruto"]GameSpot is no longer what it once was. If it was only about Gamespot...... Unfortunately, in one way or another, most of the major gaming sites are slipping. Sort of in the same way the quality of the games are slipping!
Just as in the most interesting games now coming from independents rather than the big companies, so the best reviews and features seem to now be at the smaller gaming sites that are not bought and sold by the big companies, and tend to have to buy the games, hence fairer reviews!
The feeling I get is the whole video gaming business slowly slipping down, games don't seem to have the same quality or gameplay, customer care through lack of patches and DRM from the publishers less than it's ever been and More and more gamers finding other things to do, hence a huge rise in casual gaming.
Imagine a book industry that no longer sold hardbacks or paperbacks, and the only reading that took place was of 8 page comics, that's how I fel gaming is going, a couple million people playing bejewelled forever and not actually being a gamer, and hardcore AAA games just slowly disappearing. This seems to be happening first on PC, but consoles don't seem to far behind.
Finally, you have to worry about a site called Gamespot that doesn't have the word 'Gamespot' in it's spellchecker, leaving Gamespot being unrecognized! That's a sign if I ever saw one!
i stopped caring for their reviews a long time ago..i now use this site as a gaming news site.lucifer3999
but the news isn't great either. it's way too slow, compared to kotaku, and it only covers a small, rather boring range of topics - some new game releases, and business/economics of game companies.

Some might think it's boring, but it is also very important. Understanding what is happening to the games and their parent companies are important to the future of the medium.[QUOTE="just_nonplussed"][QUOTE="lucifer3999"]i stopped caring for their reviews a long time ago..i now use this site as a gaming news site.muthsera666
