Having all three in my dorm room bothers me so much. Especially since I just bought a couple of new games on Steam. I usually go to the park to do any work that I can do with my laptop.

My gaming has to stay in my room. Otherwise it ties up the family television. Television programming was more of a problem in college for me than gaming.

I didn't have room to mention it in the topic title but what I mean't to say was if having gaming systems in your room bother you while trying to do homework/work.

Not really, but i tend to not do work in my room at all. Usually i sit in the living room and work on paperwork and, if i ever need to use a computer, use the one downstairs.

I've recently allocated my entire gaming equipment (TV, consoles, games... etc) into my bedroom and I couldn't be happier. As someone already mentioned it breaks you from the family's entertainment needs, they can watch whatever they want while I game to my heart's content. And I dunno about anyone else but my PC is also in my bedroom and I don't get distracted if I ever need to do any work on it. Take yesterday for example, I worked most of the day and didn't game at all. I suggest that if you can't fight the urge it's best you separate your workstation from your gaming/entertainment center.

I agree, what's the big deal? Who wants to get up and walk into another room to play a game all the time? I spend most of the my time in the house in my room so why should I place my system in another room?

Not really. But I do like being able to work, instead of being distracted by things.
