I cant stand lag. It's nearly 2010. It drove me nuts in 1990. I'd expect to be able to play a game online that doesnt chop all over the place. It ruins the whole experience and point. I'm a sports gamer and some of these games arent even worth playing online. I could understand this stuff on 56k but i've had a high speed connection for years and it's the same.

Lag sucks man, especially when ure in a really intense match and then all the sudden your disconnected because of a crappy connection or the host lagging.

Yes, lag still drives me (and in general, other people) nuts. I also think that it always will, until developers can finally fix it.

But developers can't fix lag, lag is caused by one's trashy internet speed.

Lag isn't that bad anymore...I can connect to most servers (American) at 50 and below, which is more than reasonable for most games. Some of you probably never played online games on a dial-up connection, good times:P I remember playing Diablo 2 on AOL, which was supposed to be 56kbps but it was actually 20 something, and everything you did on Diablo 2 had about a second delay, it was terrible.

Oh sorry! I thought he was talking about a different kind of lag, like the time it takes for the controller to respond while playing a game. Of course only the developers of the console can fix that.

Lag is rarely a problem as my internet is awesome. However, I have played too many games where one loser with terrible internet ruins it for everybody. Not fun.

I never noticed it until PC gamign hit me in 1998. The reason is when I started to see what 60 FPS really was I noticed the console games for the usually sub 30 FPS they were. And yes lag still annoys the hell out of me. I try to keep my MIN FPS at 40 on the PC.

Really ? How was Goldeneye's lag on the N64 caused by my trashy internet speed ? Just saying that internet can cause lag for online games but not offline ones.

Lag doesnt bother me now nearly as much as itdid a few years ago. Nowadays when it happens I just sorta shrug my shoulders and wait for the next match to start. Back in the day I would begin cursing thru my headset.

Keep in mind that there are several factors that will determine how much lag you get in your games. I think a large part of it is your ISP's service, followed by whether you have a network. It's easy to blame the game for lag issues, but the developers can only consider so many situations. The rest is up to the player to make sure they have a stable connection before playing online.

An offline game can't have lag. Lag is caused by the fact that information on the internet takes time to travel. Goldeneye was not online in any way, so it is impossible for it to lag.

What you are talking about is frame rate problems and slowdown, which are totally different things. If it doesn't have anything to do with the internet, it can't be lag.
