Next gen graphics really seems to be "not so impressive" so if that's all next gen has to offer then its really the most underwhelming generation to me.

The NES to SNES and PS2 to PS3 you could kinda see the graphical leaps but here it just seems like its just a little bit better graphically with higher resolution and particle physics but nothing mind blowing.

Ps1 introduced us to 3d gaming,ps2 perfected it and then PS3 introduced it to HD graphics.. and the next gen has.!? that's right that's my question what does next gen have to offer? it just seems like current generation with better graphics.. that's it!

Stop calling it "next gen". It's current gen.

The consoles are still relatively new. The developers still need time to tap into the code and get use to it. We'll be waiting awhile before any real graphical leaps.

I think people really need to cut developers some slack. You need to look at what they have to work with and I'm not just talking about hardware power but in how we interact with that hardware. There have been key moments that more easily facilitated changes in gameplay design such as going from 2D to 3D but for the past several gens now the main input device has been largely the same, the dual analog controller. It's always easiest to be creative at the beginning of something. Still though I think they have done a good job of bringing quality gaming experiences to consumers. As for power and graphics I think this gen will stand up pretty well overall and all the detail stuff such as special effects, draw distances, interactive environments, characters onscreen, etc. comes together to create a better gaming experience. To be fair the jump made last gen was pretty big and impressive and considering the price point that most consumers are willing to pay for consoles it's hard to fault hardware manufacturers for being a bit frugal with the hardware. Having a manufacturer willing to take a loss on systems at the start is certainly a nice bonus for the consumer but it shouldn't be expected.

Nah Next gen is all about sharing a digital library of hundreds games with everyone you want on your friends list, JOKES! You guys voted that out remember! I guess paying for our own games and blowing hundreds on publishers is a better idea anyway.

OT: Next gen revolves around graphics, stronger reso, stronger fps and course......POWER!

Just because Next-Gen is all about graphics doesn't mean they can't put that to good use...

Things like Partical and Lighting and Shader Effects could go a long way to improving competitive multiplayer games with an element of stealth in them.

Graphics and Animation Definately contributed to LA Noire's Interviewing Mechanic (Yes its called intetview... Not Interrogation) and I would love to say it make a comeback with the the new advancements that have been made.

Draw Distances, Resolution and Higher Framerates wouldve be awesome in Racing Games....

And yeah.... Stuff like that.... But Seriously Where LA Noire 2 ? Make It Happen !

I hope so because i'm really not going to be swayed away by pretty graphics alone.

Not really. The graphics are pretty, meh. I don't really have any reason to buy a PS4 so I'm just assuming the "next-gen" was a flop. I'm probably just going to wait until Oculus Rift comes out and then I'll be done with my console. It will be like a small child leaving his toys behind as he grows up.
