I'm not sure if what I'm about to say applies to any of the remakes, but I recently downloaded the SNES original on my Wii Virtual Console. I've gone through world 4(the theme park level), and I've already encountered THREE glitches:

1- Immortal. In one of the swamp levels, I got hit twice, but instead of losing a live like I should, I don't. The level music stops, and I go through all of the enemies. Sounds good? Well no, because I can't grab any of the items, or stomp on the goal post either. Luckily, I was able to jump off a ledge and start the level over.

2- Swimming in the air. This happened on Lockjaw's Locker (I think that is the name of the stage, but whatever). I grabbed Engarde and managed to grab the DK coin hidden in the stage. After doing so, my swordfish continued to swim even though he was in the middle of the air. I got off him, and Diddy Kong continued swimming until I touched the ground (thank god), and was able to complete the level.

3- Stuck. I was doing the Honeycomb level, and I end up sticking to the wall. That's normal for this level. However one time, I couldn't jump off of it! This one really made me angry because I had to reset the game and start over from the last save.

I did a little research and found out that this game was released only a year after the original. Do you think Rare rushed the release of this game? I know it came out back in 1995, but now is the first time I've played the game, and have to say that I'm a bit disappointed at that.

it might just be an emulation glitch. and TS, back in the day a year was standard dev time for a game (some taking far less and some a little more) not 3-5 years like now.

Yeah it sounds more like an emulation problem. I NEVER had those problems, or any glitch for that matter with the original Donkey Kong Country 2.

Never encountered these. Maybe it's a wii-specific thing? DKC 2 is an amazing game! In fact it's sitting my in SNES right now.

I'm guessing these are just emulation issues not found in the original version or the GBA one (I imagine that the hardware between the 2 systems is very similar).

I played Donkey Kong Country 2 on the Wii and had no issues whatsoever with it, same thing for Donkey Kong Country and DKC3.

So I'm the only one who's had problems? Assuming this is for the Virtual Console version only.

I seem to remember hearing about those glitches before, but I've never personally experienced those. Sounds weird, but don't give up on the game.

I've had the original game since it first came out and never had any problems like that. It's unfortunate you are experiencing those glitches because it really is a great game.

I own the game and have beaten it a million times and have never seen anything like that. It might be an emulation problem.
