It doesn't break the game or anything but don't you guys think loading screens with pictures or texts in them are annoying? It's especially irksome when it happens frequently. I'm playing Last Remnant right now and every battle, cut-scene, or events that take place has this loading screen which takes me out of the game. I'd rather prefer the screen to be pitch black with maybe a small loading icon on the bottom. At least that doesn't take me out of what's going on in the game.

Just thought it was annoying.

It doesn't bother me if its only once in a while, like in SFIV just before the match starts. Gives me time to get a drink and check my phone and stuff. However many loading screens are just annoying.

Yeah, like Last Remnant. Every battle, cut-scene, or event has this loading screen pop-up. It's so annoying.

I've never played Last Remnant, but it sounds like those loading screens are popping up way too often. That'd definitely bother me to. Loading screens are good sometimes, though. As Foxh0und666 already said, it gives you a moment to do something else like check you phone or grab a drink or a bite. I personally wish those screen lasted longer before online matches started. I almost thing it'd be weird to have a game without loading screens, I've been seeing them since I first played a video game or loaded up an application on a computer!

Ugh, just reading that gives me an image. Ever been in the car with a new driver who is using both feet for the gas and brake and causing that jerky "start-stop" motion? That's what that sounds like.

Loading times like that do break the flow. Even load times that last a while(not as common anymore, but it still happens). I shouldn't be able to microwave a cup of noodles and have it ready before the game starts again.

while no loading screens is obviously better, as long as the loading isnt too long , its not too bad, some games with long loading (such as the old tomb raider games), were a pain.

No, it's okay, because only on the loading screen I can drink.

i much prefer a well done loading screen to a pitch black screen. black screens completely take me out of the moment whereas a well themed loading screen will atleast keep me in the gaming world in some way. however, i think loading screens in general should be planned carefully. some of the excitement in KOTOR, for example, was diminished with frequent black loading screens stuck in between cutscenes depicting a frantic escape. you really have to watch the pacing.

Nope, loading screens have always been there so I guess I'm just used to them. They don't ruin the experience for me in the slightlest. Although I am slightly PO'ed that they decided to put them into Mass Effect 2 because people hated the elevator rides that I liked because of the conversations that were had in them. Now you just get to stare at a screen that has random game information on it, thanks immersion.

I don't think anybody's a fan of load times, but so long as they are minimal and brief (or better yet, masked by something cool, like the Bayonetta practice screen) I don't mind them. What you are describing sounds excessive though.

They don't bother me. I started gaming with the N64, and I'm still playing the Xbox. Load screens are still very common for the games I'm playing. If they are themed with the context of the game, I don't have any problem with them. And some of them are pretty cool, like when you can control the flames or other such things.

I don't mind them unless it's more than a few second wait. Then it becomes slightly annoying. Somewhat like Need for Speed Shift.
