Dragon Age: Origins Technical questions...

So a couple questions:

1.) What does the Xbox Live update for Dragon Age actually do? Will the update prevent me from using the money cheat later?

2.) Why do someNPCs have a large green exclamation point above them, but when you attempt to speak to them, they say nothing? Is this fixed by the update?

There have been some issues lately with the updates being done for Dragon Age Including the fiasco with the return to Ostagar(i hope i didnt spell that wrong) Download content. Best you can do it hope for a update and post on the Dragon Age forums that you are having these issues.
