Personally, I use a warrior, because it's easy. I like the game for its story over its gameplay.

Warrior for me. It's just easier to use personally.

Warrior first. Than on second I'm doing mage so I don't have to worry about healing, I just set him on auto and play with a warrior character in group.

Warrior. I play as a warrior in every game that gives me an option. I don't have the patience for magic users or ranged users as the practice ot hit and run and kiting enemies is boring to me. A warrior with quick weapons is what I'm looking for - so dual-wielded warrior in Dragon Age. Two handed weapons are nice for damage, but they're SO slow. Similarly, in Monster Hunter Tri I'm going with a sword and shield hunter, which is the fastest weapon type. Diablo 2's barbarian was fantastic dual-wielding, too, and although an extremely unpopular choice in WoW, fury-specced warrior was a lot of fun.

Mage, I like the tons of variety they offer from a offensive standpoint.

My DA character is (was) a female warrior specialized in two-handed combat. But the only reason why I could take down hordes of enemies like the grim reaper herself was because I had two mages with me at all times. By the end of the game, Morrigan had to be kept on a leash because she would take down everyone almost singlehandedly with her highest-level spells, before anybody else could even jump into the fray.

I used a rogue. I just liked the fact that I was able to open almost any chest halfway through the game and I could still do some decent damage.

Played as a rouge and a wizard. wizard is 1000x more fun for me. Way more tactical, way more combat options.

Tank. I die, group wipes. In the end I got the final undying achievement(skull) of "I'm kind of a big deal", since there was no way around it.

Well, I prefer the run-of-the-mill human warrior, though of course you'd need to play with every different origin to get the full experience that Dragon Age: Origins has to offer.

Hell yes. High five, sir! i also played a dual wielding Dwarf Commoner. I always go for dual wielding if the game allows me.

City Elf rouge, both because they look cool and I always like using ranger classes.

I picked a full on dual weilding rogue. by that i mean i used all the skills at a rogue's command. often using stealth to scout ahead and lay traps, lure enemies into choke points where my mage and warriors could join in the battle. By the end of the game my Rogue was doing critical hits of over 250 in damage with backstabs. also found it useful to control the mages a lot especially an offensive mage in the PC version where a random friendly AI fireball/blizzard can ruin any plan you set up.
