Is all your posts as useless as this one? If I, or for anyone for that matter, wanted to know what games you had, we would look at your profile. kthxbaiplayer2
Wow, are you like this in real life? Normally others would respond with how they liked the game, if they played it, or something along those lines.
DQ was one of the first rpg's I played on NES, got it free with my subscription to nintendo power. I thought it was fun at the time, and had a blast fighting monsters and leveling up and having to go back to the castle to heal up and stuff. Then having to hunt down legendary armors and weapons. I was pretty pissed off when i found out your level caps in DQ1 because I became obsessed with leveling up and gaining attributes.
I don't know WHAT Abadon is smoking. DQ8 is one of the best PS2 RPGs, second only to FF12.
DW7 was awesome too. Seriously, I have NO idea why some people hate these games.

Most likely the same reason people hate The 7th Saga: constant grinding.
Constant grinding can be a major pain in the foot. I had the same experince of that in arc the lad one and two. I swear I had to fight inch by inch just to get from one section of the dungeon or place to get anywhere. That is totally lame. For dragon quest I think number 9 will come out and if that one does well then I think number four and five will come out. Since dragon quest or dragon warrior games are not the most known in america it might be a risky move. Only time will tell what will happen.project-exile
Man I am hoping and praying that 4, 5, and 6 make it stateside.
Dragon Warrior had one element that still pisses me off to this day. Finding the damn super armor towards the end of the game was hell and resulted in many deaths searching that damn poisonous swamp till you get lucky. That and you don't even know it was there unless you searched every time you moved. Cripes!
I have not played a dragon warrior game since the second one came out for the nes. That does not sound fun at all.project-exile
7 and 8 are pretty fun, you should give them a chance.

Alright I will have to try them out. I heard dragon quest 8 is freaking long. Good I love long games. Rpgs is what I am a best at.

I love Rpgs as well and yes 8 is long and 7 is really long, but they are very fun games though.
Dragon Warrior definitely had it's fair share of flaws, but it was still a rockin awesome game for its time. I remember playing that game for hours and hours and hours at a time- and having to leave the console on early in the game because the stinking save was all the way back at the castle. (Wing of the Wyvern FTW!)
Sure, going back and playing it again about 6 months ago, it wasn't quite how I remembered it, but that's what nostalgia is all about ;)
Ah, memories.
ahhhhhh i do love the dragon warrior series....
dragon warrior 1 was good but really short (i think i beat it in 8 or 9 hours one day)
but the rest were really long and good at that. dragon warrior 2 had you pick up 2 partners in the process, dragon warrior 3 let you pick out who was in your party (up to 3 additional sidekicks) and there was LOTS to do. dragon warrior 4, while being good i didn't like not being able to control all the characters in your party, though for the game the AI was pretty decent. also splitting the game up into chapters was interesting as well. DQ 8 was EXCELLENT in my opinion, i thought it was a wonderful game and i am looking forward to playing it through again.
So many complaints about level grinding. I personally enjoy doing that kind of stuff. CommanderShiro
Have you played The 7th Saga? And I don't mind a game that has level grinding, just as long as it isn't some artificial way to increase the length of the game. I completed Dragon Warrior thrice at low levels and without rescuing the princess.

"Thou art strong enough!!! Go now, and defeat the Dragon Lord!!!"
Man, did I wish I could get "just one more level..." :)
Dragon Quest is one of my single favorite franchises. I own actual copies of and have beat 1-7. As unbeleivable as it sounds, I still haven't gotten a PS2. But when I do, DQ8 will be the first thing I play.
Out of the first 7, though, I think 4 & 5 are the very best, followed closely by 7.
I just won Dragon Warrior 1 and 2 today and trying to get Dragon Warrior 3 as well. I have Dragon Warrior 7 and Dragon Quest 8, I hope the DS remakes of 4, 5, and 6 come stateside so that way I will have them all. Has anybody played 1, 2, or 3? If so what did yall think?

I got part 1 as part of some bundle deal when I finally broke down and got the original Nintendo. I still have that copy, and I am not one to keep most of my old games on the shelf. It fills me with warm fuzzies of childhood, which... well that colors my view. But at the time it was quite awesome and devoured many weeks of my young life.
