I'm running my Dreamcast using a scart lead through my Panasonic Viera at 60HZ and I am getting some really weird colour issues. Orange changes to blue etc. This wouldn't be much of a problem as 50HZ works fine but some games automatically launch at 60HZ and they can't be changed (jet grind radio). Anyone else had a similar problem or know how to fix it?

Any help or knowledge of similar issues is really appreciated.

strange, ive ran 60Hz games on a PAL dreamcast (also through a scart cable), and the games looked fine.

it could be a faulty cable, though if it works in 50Hz then I wouldnt think so.

also some cheaper cables dont seem to work at 60hz, is it RGB scart? those are the only ones that work properly with 60Hz mode, that might be a more probably issue.

Is the cable an RGB scart, or composite scart (they tend to have problems with 60Hz)

It is an RGB scart cable.

Thanks for the reply.

hmm, thats strange, if its an RGB scart (and a properly working one), then it shouldnt have any problems at all, your TV shouldnt be a problem.

its not the dreamcast either since its working correctly right?

the only possibility is the cable, ive bought before a an RGB scart cable and it gave me lots of picture problems, its always best to buy the official thing (or from somewher you trust, I myself have the official DC SCART cable, so it works fine).

sorry if I couldnt be of any help

Hmm i am thinking it is my TV i know my PS3 had some problems with the component cable yet it worked fine on my other tv. Then i bought a different component cable (a cheaper one) and that worked fine. I will test this out and if it is the same problem i will invest in an official RGB cable.

thats strange, a new tv shouldnt have any problems at all with 60Hz,

could it be the SCART plug on the TV itself, maybe trying to plug the cable into a different plug.

I really don't know but maybe you can try changing the color mode of your TV or different video cable.

it must be the TV then, like you said, really strange considering its a new TV, unless the TV is faulty, but maybe it really just has problems with 60Hz (if it does, its in the extreme minority)

What makes it more odd is that it isn't displaying the usual 60HZ problem only problem is orange and blue etc switch colours
