A couple weeks ago, i saw the videoclips of this game on a couple youtube channel. I thought it looked pretty stupid, given how they upgraded some features while others looked extremely dated.

A couple nights ago, i got a $10 valcher for the ps store and saw the game was on sale for exactly $10. So i decided, since it would be essentially free and i actually liked it back in the day, i would spend my credit on it.

I tried it this afternoon, and really, this brought me back in time, and put an ear to ear grin on my face. I actually like it!!

I’m not sure how much i’ll go back to it, but i’m planning to spend more time with it the next few weeks.

Given some of the reviews and screenshots, i thought this would end up being a giant turd. Really though, the nostalgia factor and some of the actual gameplay really pleased me.

I don’t know if it would be worth the retail $20 to me, but for the current $10 entry fee, it is nice to have. Any old school duke nukem fans may want to give this a chance. This game brightened part of my day.

Anyone else get this game? I was really afraid it could be a waste but today, for me, it was not. Thoughts?

@open_lane: Been tempted on getting the game because I like Arcade'y FPS games. And every now and then I like to jump into retro games

But that price tag needs to be lower. It's not only a very-very old game, it's a retro game that isn't exactly a great game to begin with.

If you own Megaton it's only worth getting for the additional 8 new maps on discount.

It also has expansion content cut, so actually has less content than the Megaton version.

A nice addtion is the new engine lighting which, even though it lacks filtering, genuinely makes the game look alot better without ruining the art style.

Unfortunately they don't sell Megaton version anymore, but if you're stuck with this version it's still pretty good.

And yea, it's Duke3d, one of the best FPS made. Why wouldn't it be fun?

I really got so much joy out of playing it. There are a couple really good games for $10 and less on the ps store.

I agree, i don’t think nukem is worth the full $20 but def seems worth it for $10. With the valcher, it was free for me.

Gave me a warm feeling when playing. Also been eyeing the 2d retro style sonic mania. That very well be my next purchase, especially if i get another $10 credit.
