E, T, or M?

There was a recent news article here on Game Spot that claimed that M games sold better than E or T games. So I looked at my PS2,GC,XBOX,360, and Wii collection and see what was my dominate rating.....

PS2:

E 5, T 15, M 9

GC:

E 8, T 6, M 3

Xbox:

E 4, T 26, M 21

360:

E 4, T 4, M 5

Wii

T 1.

Overall I own 22 E games, 62 T games, 38 M games.

How do you compare? What is your dominate rating

PS3 = 1 T, 1 M

PS2 = 23 E, 30 T, 23 M

PS = 12 E, 11 T, 3 M

N64 = 4 E , 5 T, 1 M

PC = 3 E, 2 T

Mobile = 2 E

in total i have: 44 E, 49 T, 28 M

I think I have looked at this before, and my collection is mostly teen, but it is closely backed by mature titles (on Xbox). I really don't care what the ratings are when I buy it.

Now, I think a lot more of the games try to be more realistic and bloody, which is why the M rated ones are thought to be selling better, but this is purely a guess.

In my entire collection, according to the ESRB info on GameSpot gamespaces, I've got:

E: 48 (including 4 E10s)

T: 78

M: 56

I expect that the reason M-rated games can be said to sell better than games with other ratings despite being less numerous compared to, say, T-rated games in our sampling here is that more T-rated games are released than M-rated ones. That is, what fewer M-rated games that are released sell better, on average, than more plentiful T-rated games.

DS: E - 3
