Instead of having E3 and other gaming events in California, why not have a big gaming event on the east coast? Everything in California is more expensive, which is one of the many reasons E3 is expensive for small developers (and some large; i.e. Tecmo). And not even in N.Y., the event couldnt be in Florida or NC or VA. What do you guys think?

That'd be cool. Then I'd stand a rat's ass of a chance of actually making it to one. :D

I completely agree with you OP. Here in New Jersey for example there are countless motels and hotels and conventions centers. They are pratically a dime a dozen. It's only like 10-20k to rent out a decent sized place for a wedding reception. They would save a lot by going somewhere other than cali.

Toronto would be sweet. . . but Vancouver would be better. . .the turnout would be wicked. After all, they don't call it Hongcouver for nothin.

I like Asians, they make 3/4 of the stuff I own.

Something like 80% of game developers are in California and Texas. The rest are in Washington. A small fraction like 8% or so are elsewhere.

I forgot exactly where i read that, but i'll try and see if i can find the link again.

You're right. American game development is primarily on the West coast there are hardly any big studios in the eastern U.S.

Didn't they try and do E3 in Atlanta one year? I didn't think it worked out too well.
