Err... I googled him, watched a trailer from Assassin's Creed: Black Flag and the only similarity is that they're both blonde. Either way, Ed ain't got nothing on Guybrush Threepwood, Mighty Pirate™.

One of the highlights of Assassin Creed 4 for me was an assassination target referring to himself as Mancomb Seepgood, so it's remotely possible. Someone on the team has definitely played Monkey Island.
