They should make a movie while they're at it. I really liked the cinematic. Thoughts?

It probably cost 195 out of the 200 million they budgeted.
Joking aside, it's an awesome trailer. I remember Blizzard making these sorts of full-auto trailers. Now they just make in-engine trailers looking like what they think their game looks like. But as much as I appreciate the effort put into it, I must say I did not get the story in the trailer whatsoever. What was the first fight about? Why did all the chains break when she cut one of them? Who did the big warrior-guy pick up? Where the heck did the necromancer at the end come from? Maybe I wasn't paying attention... Should be a bit clearer, though. Is it just me?

My interpretation the chains act like a stabilizing link to the human realm from the daedra dimension. So once one was severed it caused the gateway to collapse in on itself (I doubt it's going to be that easy in the game). With the necromancer I believe he was the assassin/ranger we see at the beginning who appears to have been corrupted/twisted while the daedra held him prisoner, which I'm guessing resulted in him turning into an undead master?
That said this is just my interpretation, by no means is what happened in that trailer entirely clear lol.
Reminds me of the Deep Down trailer, but with higher CGI quality (since it's not pretending to be in-game graphics), closer to the kind of CGI that Square Enix makes. However, it tells us almost nothing about the actual gameplay, or how it will set itself apart from the countless other MMO's out there.

Okay..so I'll try to answer all your questions but not in order.
As stated on the wiki: This story is set in the time where by a pact with the gods, all emperors must be dragonborn. But the last dragonborn emperor, Reman Cyrodiil has died. Another tries to claim the throne, convinced by his chief advisor Mannimarco that there is away to circumvent the dragonborn requirement. But Mannimarco(the necromancer) who is in fact is a servant of Molag Baal has tricked him into extinguishing the dragonfires. This allows Molag Bal to enter Nirn (the world proper as opposed to the daedric realms). The anchors are tethers drawing Nirn into Molag Baal's realm of ColdHarbour.
The first fight is an explanation of the political situation and the pvp. Mannimarco's forces have seized the imperial city and daedra walk its streets, with the reanimated corpses of the dead Legions guarding its walls. Your character is in fact one of these "soulless ones." Three forces have emerged to reclaim the seat of the empire - the Aldmeri Dominion, the EbonHeart Pact and the Daggerfall Covenant. They are at war with each other fighting through Cyrodiil's countryside. PvP consists of campaigns that last about a month with players assigned to a campaign by certain factors, faction being chief among them. If one faction over the course of a campaigning season seizes all the keeps around the Imperial City, the player who contributed the most to that alliance will become Emperor, and this includes being granted an entirely separate skill line.
Man, these kinda of vids just don't do it for me any more. Looked nice but the game is going to be nothing like this in action I'd bet.
That you are quite right about, but a couple of my friends got a beta key and I gotta say it looked pretty gorgeous for an MMO, graphics was like a heavily modded Oblivion too draw a comparison. Don't expect the gameplay to be anything other than an Elder Scrolls game with certain MMO additions.

True, but rarely does any game look like the CGI trailers for them.
There are plenty of in-game pictures around the net.
It looks good for an MMO. There's a little more verticality than typical TES games. That's just a fancy way of saying the buildings are tall and the landscape has a tendency to tower over the player.
I think the bottom picture expresses it. Just click to enlarge. This forum doesn't want me to post it larger.
Yeah, it does look pretty decent for an MMO. Probably going to handily one up GW2, which looks pretty nice too.
GW2 went for a hand-painted look and there were just moments for me during the beta where my jaw hit the keyboard because of how beautiful it looked...not so much technically as just the use of colors. TES is keeping things more realistic and uses the same palette the regular TES games do. I appreciate that because so many MMOs go the cartoonish route and that just doesn't do it for me.
