Essential JRPG series

Hi. I want to make a list of the essential jrpgs. Souls,dragon quest...those series that are AWESOME and everyone has to play them.

Shin Megami Tensei is probably the best series of JRPGs. Also don't forget Pokemon.

Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Tales of, and Chrono games would be my top choices.

Tales of, Valkiria, Golden Sun, Pokemon, Fire Emblem, Kingdom Hearts

Persona. Definitely Persona. Also don't forget the standalone stragglers that were truly great like The Legend of Dragoon, Secret of Mana, Legend of Legaia, Vagrant Story, Xenogears, Xenosaga, Parasite Eve, Grandia, Wild Arms, and Dark Cloud.

This won't work. Everyone will give you his favs. and you'll end upo having each series in your list.

Also many great series have bad games in them, so having a list of series is pretty pointless.

You need Persona / SMT and I would add Final Fantasy too

@ArchoNils2: and there isnt a definitive list created by rpg lovers? There has been too much time.

There are rons of lists like that and most people disagree with them because it's all subjective. My list for examole would contain many SRPGs like Disgaea or Makai Kingdom, others don't even know them or wouldn't put them in their top 10 ^^

Lost Odyssey. Created by one of the co-founders of Final Fantasy.

The number one JRPG series will always be Pokemon. While for me it's Final Fantasy 1 for saving Square from Bankruptcy (If the article I've read is actually true.).
