Ever bought a game and then never opened it?

I remember I bought Rogue Galaxy a few years ago, even paid full price, and yet I've never even removed the shrink wrap! Has anyone else done this?

My brother bought Final Fantasy XII and never opened it. He wanted to play it, he just never got around to it

Sorry about the crappy pic. The difference is that I bought it a couple months ago, and quite cheap. Still shrinkwrapped as well. Other games I haven't opened are Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn and P.N.03.

No. It's a waste of money IMO. I buy games to play it.

I bought a pair of those burger king games... I played the racing game for a about 30 minutes and never touched it again. Sneak King is still shrinkwrapped.

Definitely. In fact it's probably over 50 games now. On XBLA and Wii VC. :P

Seriously though that happens sometimes but I usually open them somewhat soon. Perhaps the longest I've ever had an unopened game for was about a month.

Exactly, if I am going to spend my money on game, then I am most certainly going to play it eventually, or else what would have been the point of purchasing the game in the first place?

A while ago I had such a huge backlog of unopened and unplayed games, I felt I needed a picture of it to fully appreciate it

Some of them were opened but still all of it was not played at all. Since then I've played through a few of them, but then added more new games I've yet to open. I don't think I'll ever get through them all, especially with a majority of them being long RPGs.

This is something i've never done. I've always had to test the game out as soon as I got to my console. But I have bought a game and only turn it on one time.

I'm not going to look down on people who do this. Because of them, I got a NEW copy of Crysis: Warhead from goozex instead of a used one.Gammit10

I've only done this once with MGS3:Subsistence Limited Edition, but I bought two copies; one to keep sealed and one to open. If I had more money, I would do more of the same with games that I hope would become collectible items lol.

Nope. I (or one of my siblings) play every game I buy. I have yet to buy something only to leave it un-played or unopened.

yes. im a gaming slash collector. so i have a few rare games that i havent opened. it just sounds cool when u show show of a rare unopened game to a friend or something. "look its unopened" oooooooooooo

In my younger days...or back when I had more time to invest, I'd open every game with reckless abandon. Now, I currently have 7 titles unopened. It's not because I plan to sell them, it's just that I havent gotten around to playing them yet. Anymore I go months, sometimes even close to a year without buying a single game and then I'll go buy like 12 in one shot. That's probably the biggest reason why.

if it counts i bought earthbound for the snes for 25 cents and still havent played it yet and its in great condition

Yes. I'd bought a brand new copy of Mass Effect for 360 only to get home and found out my 360 was broken. So I never opened it.

Yes. Street Fighter Collection 2. Still sealed. I got it because it was rare. Plus I have no need to play it because I have enough SF games to play if needed.

By doing that, I eliminate any games that I don't intend to open (which I think is just my second copy of Final Fantasy XII, but I'm not actually certain :D).

Now let's see how many games have the "Unopened" comment... 22. Beat that. :P

Yeah, I've bought lots of games and never played 'em. I find a lot of really good deals online for games, so I buy them with the intent to play them at some point, but I'm always too busy. Some games I have that I have never put in my gaming console:

• Halo 3
• The Darkness
• Orange Box
• Marvel Ultimate Alliance
• Some racing game called Midnight something
• Cooking Mama's Cookoff
• Mario Kart
• Wii Fit
• Guitar Hero World Tour (all the stuff is still in the box in my my living room... going on 2 months... not too long compared to the other games)
• Fable (until today when I finally put it in... I had it for about a year)

And there's some others too... I'm upstairs and don't want to go downstairs to go look at all of them. Too lazy... I don't think I'll even finish th
