Every one needs to go buy Deadly Premonition!

This game takes a lot of genres and puts a literal classic twist on them! It is like a game that was developed for the PS2 but when they finished the game they sent it to the future and put it on the 360 with updated character models. It's the best 20$ you will ever spend on a NEW game. The script is cheesy and hilarious, the gameplay borrows from all the best there is out there and it feels old school in the best of ways. It could have been released on the Wii(really why not?!) and it does have some problems if you don't like dated gameplay but other wise, GO GET THIS TODAY!

People that do have this game, did I hit the nail on the head? Or is your opinion different?

I would also like to add, If you are a fan of the games Illbleed and Eternal Darkness you will almost certainly love this game.

The best part is the Isolation you feel while you explore the town, I don't think the feeling could have been pulled off with modern graphics. You really feel like you are visiting a creepy mountain town with an unsettling past!

I really hope some of you fellow Gamespot enthusiasts do go out and buy this underrated, critically abused, oddly nostalgic and hilarious game. It deserves the sales and I guarantee you will have a blast playing it if you can look past it's shot comings! This game is definantly a breath of fresh air in this age of HD gaming and hope to see more like it.

I agree, although this game will be slammed for some awkward controls and dodgy functions. It is atmospheric and interesting. I'm a big Twin Peaks fan and loved it.

I didn't say it was a bad game and I haven't judged it at all, otherwise that would have implied that I played it and I haven't. I can't voice a credible opinion about the game, but I can voice my opinion about the developer as I've played games developed by them.

It does sort of interest me cause as I've said, I'm a big david lynch fan, but I've got a big list of games to purchase before I purchase and play a game that's 'so bad it's good'.

I just watched the trailers again. I had seen the first one a while ago, but I hadn't seen the second one. I almost wish I had a current-gen console. Well, I wish that I could watch someone play the game, because I don't think I could... I don't do good with horror.

the creator of twin peaks, and one of the eeriest/weirdest writers/directors. he is well known by his movies/series muholland dr, twin peaks, and eraserhead.

while the game was being developed, many gaming websites noted the strong similarities between deadly premonition (red seeds profile) and twin peaks. After the comparison was made around summer 2008 (the game was first shown at TGS 2007) the developers decided to change the artistic direction of the game so it didn't resemble the Twin Peaks series as much. Msny reviewers/gaming journalists compare deadly premonition to david lynch's work.

and the 20 bucks price tag doesn't take away from the fact that I've got other games that I'd like to complete first. It's not the money issue, it's that I want to beat FFXIII, Yakuza 3, and Resonance of Fate before I think about playing another game.
