funny, anyone else notice there are a few missing from that? Most obvious being the Siaxxis. Also no Atari Jaguar, TurboGrafix16, Sega Saturn And for the Record the GameCube is still my favorite controller of all time

Quite a few controllers missing, but a pretty accurate diagram. It's also pretty funny.

Funny how they're missing the playstation controller, as in, the controller than introduced handles (and ergonomic design with it).

I was thinking that, but it still depicts a baseline for how controllers are evolving.

I suppose for someone who is not much of a gamer, and would need a basic idea of the evolution of a game controller, yeah its a good start.

Yeah with a second look it is pretty crappy. But I agree, if you weren't much of a gamer, although not very informative, it has the general structure.

The PlayStation controller is not at all ergonomic. Maybe moreso than previous iterations, but that's like saying that a wolverine is better than a rabid wolverine; while true, it's not yet comfortable.

that may be true, but it was the first to take a step in that direction. Though personally between that and the N64 controller I preferred the N64s controller. It was more comfortable to hold to me at least.

I can understand why they chose not to include the Dualshock 3 or Sixaxis, whichever way you call it. Its basically the exact same design as the previous one (why change something that's perfect? :P), although I think they should have included the original PSOne controller since it didn't have analog sticks. The only controllers I hated were the N64 and the old Xbox controller. Both of those just didn't feel right to hold.

I gotta agree with the hating the giant doughnut that was the xbox controller. I played the original xbox at a buddies house once. After 5 minutes with that thing my hands were hurting. Just another reason why I hate the xbox. I find ur comment on the N64 controller wierd though. Yeah it was a bit large and definitely oddly shaped but I thought it was pretty comfy to hold

The worst thing about the N64 controller was that the stick wore out pretty quickly, I went through so many pads with that console, it was a bit of a joke. Always felt better than the dualshock though.

Not to me though. Not only was it really clunky, but I just didn't like how I had to constantly switch my left hand back and forth between the handles. It doesn't seem practical to me.

Thall shalt not blaspheme the holiness of the Xbox! Ye call down my wrath upon ye! :P Seriously, though. Hating the excellent Xbox system because you don't like the launch controller? The Controller S is much more comfortable that the PS (or PoS, lol). And why hate the Xbox? There are a lot of terrific games for it. Trust me: my Xbox collection is now 277 strong.

But yeah, I thought the Controller S was a vast improvement over the original. It felt so much better.

It wasn't just the controller. I hate anything and everything M$ and I have never and will never buy any M$ product. And honestly, the game I did play on the Xbox was and still is claimed to be the best game ever on an Xbox system (Halo) and I hated it.

You hated one game and that means it's okay to hate the system? I'm really sorry. And Halo is far from the best game ever on the Xbox. Trust me. As an avid Xbox fan, I really enjoyed Halo, but I would not consider it to be near the best. I'm not sure why you hate Microsoft. I guess I respect your difference of opinion, but I do find it puzzling. I love my Xbox...
