Fallout 4 is a big let down in terms of frame rate

Recently been putting one or two forums regarding the fps in fallout 4, now I must say the graphics and gameplay wise this game is breathtaking, but when it comes to the frame rate it severely let's itself down. Not all of the time but on the odd occasion and nearly every time I am in the dense city area the frame rate appears to drop dramatically causing the game to stutter. I play on the ps4 but have also heard that pc users on max settings also face this problem. This game is over a year old now and still Bethesda has not done anything to fix it! I just hope that if they do fix it that the fix comes to all consoles and not just the likes of the ps4 pro.

i personally think its one of, if not, the worst looking game(s) i've played on the ps4. frequent framerate drops are only one of its problems. terrible blurry draw distances, blocky textures, unconvincing character animations, lots of repetitive cut and paste scenery are other problems that instantly spring to mind. there's a few decent looking areas and some nice lighting here and there but on the whole it's as close to a last gen game as i've seen this gen, for that level of hype and budget anyway

It's a let down in most regards, honestly. I've been playing it again since I put it down at launch due to disappointment, and man as one of New Vegas' biggest lovers, FO4 is super bad.

I've been doing the Nuka World DLC cause I love Theme Parks so damn much, even in video game form. And just as you think it's getting good, BOOM they bring it back to God damn settlements.

What's the fucking obsession? Come on. Then the other issue is the constant combat. It's like they've nothing else for you to do in the game other than just blind boring combat.

are you using some sort of frame rate counter while you play? or have you just read too much about frame rate drops on forums etc?

if you don't fill your mind with that useless junk, you wont notice it. In fact, I didnt even know FO4 has fr issues until months after buying the game and readin rubbish on the internet. I havent really noticed it, even during the big castle battle with lots of enemies on screen.

My biggest issue with the game is that after playing through a lot of it, I got so bored I havent gotten around to finishing it lol

@benny_boy98: Frame rate is never as important as people believe it is - developers aren't swayed by frame-rate performance as much as you think they are or should be.

Fallout 4 is a let down but not because of some shit about framerates.

the reason fallout 4 is not good is because it lacks the story and map that Fallout 3 had.

Thought the graphics were really good and never noticed the framerate on PS4. And I know bad framerate (looking at you Civilization V on my crap computer).

@Jacanuk: the map is alot better & bigger than that of fallout 3, not only is it bigger and better it also adds alot more variety due to the insane density and increased foliage and textures.

But when you compare the 2 Fallout 3 seems bigger

Oh boy! A chance to shit on Fallout 4! Back when I played it it was uber broken, the story is crap, sidequests are chores, and its no longer an RPG, its an average open world FPS that everyone would shit on or ignore, had not for the fallout and bethesda brands backing it up.

I really enjoyed and had a great time with Fallout 4 myself. I played it on the Xbox One and thought that it looked and played really good. I'm sure that it didn't always maintain a consistent frame rate but I can't recall it ever dropping to something that was ever that impactful.

It looks and runs fine on PS4 IMO, although it's not a pretty game on any platform. Draw distances are fine too... you can see the useful details a long way away.

disagree :) and whilst yes you can see the details (ish), they look pretty laughable for a game with as big a budget as fallout.
