One of my favorite games is Far Cry. If being honest, I hadn't been waiting something special from the fifth part of the game. But the atmosphere caught me from the first minutes. Even though in this part the character appear in the trivial America (in Montana state), different details catch attention and excite. I really like the graphic of the game, especially places where wild nature combines with footprints of human presence. Every outpost have its unique layout. The plot don't limit players actions. There are a lot of different interesting missions. You are able to choose the order of missions implementation. You are free to choose to play game with mate or manage all missions along. My favorite mate in the game is puma. She's so quite! However, henchmen of the Eden’s Gate Project looks scared a lot when she appears.

I am a bit lazy to tell a lot. Later I will write more

After a disappointing experience with Far Cry 4 a month ago, I'm never playing another of these games. I hate the movement.

I didn't think it was amazing, but I still had fun with it. I expected it to be yet another Far Cry game, and it was. I think choosing the setting they did was kinda risky, but they pulled it off pretty well.

It was fun, but incredibly unoriginal. Montana was great, though, not sure why people were down on it.

I both love and hate Ubisoft's ability to build upon and take from previous games: it means they improve and use previous mechanics and ideas they've used before to the current games benefit; but it also makes for a routine and familiar experience, which makes the game kind of boring. Thankfully it's an FPS which are inherantly exciting games for the most part, so it's not really boring, but this game might as well be called Far Cry: Wildlands for how similar it plays to all previous Far Cry games, and their last successful Ghost Recon game.

The DLC is disappointing so far, unfortunately. Not terrible, but it's not great, either. Was hoping for something along the lines of Blood Dragon, but got something that felt like a budget game. Hopefully the Mars one is better.

This is me being a nitpicking prick, though; if I'm being totally honest, I enjoyed the game very much and my only wish was that there was a bit more longevity to it.

Wow had no idea what that technique was, thank you for sharing. How was it applied to the game? Did they use real pictures of Montana?

I agree with your overall statement, too.

I've loved the FC series a long time. And I gotta say FC5 is the best of the lot.

Its got great atmosphere, great secrets and collectables, piles of stuff to do, and it never got boring or repetitive.

The three different storylines of the three main bosses kept well together, and gave you three very different views to the cult.

The big boss, after you beat those three, was bit of a anticlimax, as was the ending. But this was the only sore point in the game.

The game world, very well made, really pretty and with lot of detail. Great work.

I also enjoyed hunting and fishing in the game.

Skill tree was good also, and did not make you too powerful. Or give you silly skills.

Great single player campaign structure, much better than what ACO, FC Primal, or FC4 had.

This is currenlty my GOTY candidate, even tho I've played most new games this year on PS4.. Its that good. Must have for everyone.

Oh, and one great thing; in this FC, you do not have to mess about with syringes! Man, I hated to having to use syringes like all the time in the other FC games. Thankfully in FC5 using them is totally optional, and you can survive without.

Question guys, what are your thoughts on pc costs vs. ps4/xbox costs when gaming?

I have a project at school about the range of turnover among pc gamers who sometimes need to upgrade their hardware in order to keep up with the increased requirement demands when playing newer games. I know graphics and gameplay can be better on pc compared to ps4/xbox. But has there been an issue and is that a main factor in why many more people choose ps4/xbox because they don't have to upgrade their specs?

I'm more of a ps4 gamer mainly due to not wanting to spend a lot on gaming pcs. And the games I've played on pc, I see a lot of lag. However, I do find the mod communities in pc games to be amazing, but is it worth it for the price of upgrading?

Last, how often do you pc gamers need to upgrade hardware/software to stay up-to-date with new games?

I enjoyed it overall, but not sure it's my favourite in the series... I think I had more fun with 3 & 4.

I much prefer slaughtering animals to increase my carrying capacity for various items like in Far Cry 3 and 4. In Far Cry 5, I can still slaughter them. But, they're mostly useful for selling their skins.

I still have my FX-8350 CPU from 2013. It's still okay for single-player games like Far Cry 5. I did upgrade to a GTX 1060 last year. So...... Not very often. I'm tempted to upgrade to a better CPU. But, it's hard for me to abandon the current one when it's still effective.

there are hunting challenges linked to pretty much every animal in the game. Kill enough of said animal, and you get perk point!

Hunting is the best way of getting perk points really fast.

I rank them 3-4-5-1-2

5 does not have a single "likable" villain and the story is just meh with the same gameplay of 3, but there is no crafting so the open world becomes pointless.

No it's not the same as 3. Heck. Even 4 had many changes from 3 and 5 has its share of changes from 4. I don't know where you're getting the "same as Far Cry 3" crap from.

Also, there is crafting in the game.

Ooooh. Okay. I learned something new today.

Yeah. I need to get those perk points fast because I'm getting my butt kicked in some situations.

prepper stashes are also excellent way to get perk points, so totally worth finding them all! Did you figure out the stash on the starting island?

Are you referring to the flooded basement? If it's that one, I guess it's yes. ;)

Good thing I've been playing the Bethesda Fallout games for the good part of a year because Far Cry 5 seems to have taken some pointers from them like the basement part. Even the compass in Far Cry 5 is Fallout-ish.

Yeah, thats the stash! It took me while to notice the generator, so I was like, how can I get there without drowning!?!

There are stashes that are really hard to get to, and really pushed my platfroming skills to test. That was awesome. Been some time since modern game had good platforming action!

I noticed with each succeeding Ubisoft Far Cry game that the player's character and NPC movement options have been improving. The biggest jump was in Far Cry 4 when the bad guys started using ladders and can grab ledges to climb. In Far Cry 4, one of my get-away routines was via zip line because the NPCs never used them. In Far Cry 5, I was shocked to see enemy NPCs using the zip lines too. I haven't seen an NPC use a grappling hook. But, unlike in Far Cry 4, Far Cry 5 has less places to use a grappling hook on. Swimming is another thing I'm seeing more NPCs do. I never saw any (human) NPC swim in Far Cry 3 or 4. But, they do in Far Cry 5. That was another shocker. It's getting to the point where whatever action the player can do, the NPCs can too and that's a good thing.

In the first Watch Dogs, enemies used ladders to come after the hero.

Come to think of it, enemies in last gen AC games could climb like monkeys, even back in AC2. There was this lightly armoured, fast running enemy guard type in AC2, that could pretty much follow you everywhere, up and down buildings and so on.

It is kinda strange that it took Far Cry series this long to get their enemies to the same level of smart.

I don't know if Far Cry being an FPS has anything to do with it. But, it was a long time coming. I'm happy to see it.

Well, the first person view makes it harder to be aware of all enemies around you, and also makes the platforming harder. So maybe they held out on enemy AI so as not to make the games too difficult.

It's great but the enemies are completely copy paste. I mean I get that's always been the case and with a lot of games but I just don't know why it's so glaringly obvious when it comes to FC5.

That's fine. It feels more realistic when I'm not aware of every bad guy around. I have to keep glancing around to make sure I'm not caught off-guard.

I can't wait to finish the SP campaign so I can do free-explore and totally disable the UI/HUD.

FarCry 5 is boring my favorite in the series was FC3 because it has good graphics, strong AI and lethal antogonist.
