Actually the Uwe Boll Far Cry movie isn't half bad, I recommend you see it before judging it. Sure, it's cheesy and Jack Carver is now german but at least it follows the story more than all the other AWFUL video game/comic movies out there. Uwe Boll may not have the skills and money to create a great movie, but a least you can tell he was trying, which is more than we can say for big cross-media productions such as Spiderman, Fantastic 4, Hulk, Iron Man, Super Mario and the works.Black_Knight_00To be honest i liked bloodrayne 1 and alone in the dark 1.

I didn't like Alone in the Dark becasue it had nothing to do with the game (and because of Tara Reid). I liked Postal and Far Cry and also Tunnel Rats (though it's not based on a game). I mean, Uwe Boll is not as bad as most people think he is.

What I've never understood is how he manages to get such big name actors in his movies.

Before that he signed on Academy Award winner Ben Kingsley for Bloodrayne, Seriously, was the guy that tight on bread?:?

I've seen several of his, but Far Cry was the only one where I wasn't groaning the entire time.

And if I recall correctly you liked Far Cry (the game) as much as I did, and since we weren't particularly offended by the variations he made on the original plot I guess he did a good work after all.
So does Super Mario, so does Bloodrayne, so does House of the Dead and they screwed them up. Though it's a shooter, Far Cry is loosely based on The Island of Dr. Moreau, there's more than meets the eye.Far Cry had a plot as deep as a puddle, so it would be pretty difficult to screw up.

Well, I played Instincts on the Xbox, so I didn't play the original. There were three versions: Far Cry, Far Cry Instincts and Far Cry Instincts Evolution, so I wasn't really focused on a particular version. But, the game was awesome, nonetheless. And, like you said, the variations weren't that major. It wasn't like aliens suddenly appeared; his plot was closely related to that of the games.
Far Cry (PC) was the best, muthsera.Gammit10Most likely. I bought it from Steam during a sale in a two pack with Far Cry 2, but I lack a PC capable of playing it...

As soon as you upgrade you have to play it, it'll blow your mind. IF you can tackle the nightmarish difficulty level. That game really separates the boys from the men :P

That line along with terrible action scenes, terrible pacing, and terrible acting? No, it's a bad movie. It's also too cheesy for it's own good.

When the hell did being cheesy make it ok to call bad acting "okay"?

I would love to get a new pc, but right now, the college loans are sucking down most of the money. Although I did just blow like $800 on XBox games on Ebay... but my collection has swollen beautifully!
