There are some video game makers who think it's okay to make the characters climb at a snail's pace with every ladder.
Sure this may not seem like a big deal, but whether it's poll climbing or wall climbing, it can get really tedious when the player wants to explore an area but the game character just doesn't move as swiftly as the gamer wants.
There are many games featuring wall climbing, like The Legend of Zelda, Prince of Persia, Rogue Galaxy, etc etc. I would say that Prince of Persia the Sands of Time is an obvious contender for having a character that moves swiftly up ladders. More games need to mimic that design.
