I'd like to say the Barrett .50 Cal rifle in COD4 aswell but the sniping in the game is a little hit or miss at times and the recoil on this gun in particular makes it annoying to get a spot on second hit if you miss your first shot.
I'd probably go with the AWP in CSS or the original UT'99 sniper rifle, that was spot on headshot everytime with me.
Iwould've said the Barrett .50 Cal if they got it right in Call of Duty 4, but splitting people in half with bullets doesn't happen online.mountain_duwe
Yeah people actually survive when you hit them with it in that game. I just unlocked the gun and I was all 'WOOT, TIME TO PWN SOME NOOBS!' Shot a guy with it, the hit indicator is like 'yup, you definetly hit the guy, no registration bug here' and the guy scampers off and if he had extreme conditioning, I probably wouldn't have gotten that second shot on him. Plenty of other escapists though.
FarSight XR-20. Nothing can compare.foxhound_fox
hahaha, that things only 'nerf' was that it took a long time to fire between shots, and reloaded slowly. Yet there was almost no limit to zoom range, it had x-ray vision, and could go through anything and destroy everything.

They were some added weaknesses. The tracking was too slow for a running enemy and it could not track a cloaked person.
I like the one in Red Faction. Dont remember what its called but it looked awsome. The one in hitman was sweet too, how it comes in a briefcase and all that jazz.F1Lengend
That one in Red Faction was quite cool. But for memories sake of good times I´m gonna have to go with the old PSG1 from Metal Gear.
Classic.
For me without any doubt, the original one from Unreal Tournement._Bearyeah I'll go for that. Though since then I've become kind of a rainman with sniper rifles from any game.
I'm fairly certain that was a Barrett .50 cal rifle, though it may have been a test/development rifle, rather than the regular rifle. Even so to hit a target at that range on a first shot was very impressive.I remeber seeing this sniper on futureweapons that hit a target at 1.5 miles.

Battlefield 2 - L96A1, I think I got it right. It looks awesome, sounds awesome and it's accuracy is awesome. Bf2 sniping is imo the best combination of realism and fun. The bullet drops after a while, so you have to put the crosshair a bit higher than the head. The bullet also has a travelling time. Sounds easier than it really is.
