Favorite 2D Mario game

Super Mario Bros 3 for me.

This is a hard decision as I enjoyed all of them emmensely.

Don't forget about the original Mario Bros from 1983!

Ita a hard decision for me between 3 and World but World was one I have the most memories with because I played it with my dad a lot when I was a tyke.

Mario Bros 3 is by far my favorite. Its one of those magic games.

It's a tough decision between SMB3 and SMW, but I think SMB3 wins by a thread...

My favorite Mario game is Super Mario World with Mario 3 very close behind. Mario 2 is a great game, and personally more enjoyable than Mario 1, despite the hate Mario 2 seems to always get.

alot of people might be surprised by this but my favourite is mario land 2 on gameboy, it was the first mario game I ever played and its awesome

I think Super Mario World was the pinnacle of the 2D Mario games. Even the awesome New Super Mario Bros on DS couldn't shake it off it's pedestal.

My vote goes for the first game i ever played, Super Mario World. I still remember my ass getting kicked by Charging Chucks!

Super Mario Bros. 3 would be my favorite, the sheer number of power ups and worlds this game introduced were simply amazing. And the goomba/kuribo shoe owns all!

How about: Super Mario All Stars + Super Mario World? (I would think it is everyones favorite 2d mario :))

But to be serious SMB3, it is the first one I learned all secrets and spent the most time on. SMW is very close second.

Super Mario bros 3 and Super Mario World are both the best. My favourite has to be World, sure its power-ups aren't awesome like in 3 but it some-how edges just past 3 by an inch.

Yoshi's Island still remains to this day my favourite platformer of all time!

Of those I enjoyed more SMB3 followed by Yoshi´s Island,which is also pretty good.

I like SMB3 the most, but SMB and SMW are both great games. mario2 is just the "red-headed step-child"......... and Mariobros the original is too basic, not fun really. Has to be SUPER to be fun if u ask me.

It has to be Super Mario World! I've loved that game for years!!

Super Mario Bros 3, it was an amazing leap forward for platformers and just blew everything away at the time (World was just a logical progression from 3) it also has a lot more charm than the other 2D games with the animal suits and such.

for those who didnt see it while it was up it was super mario all-stars. which is mario bros. 1 , 2,3, mario kart, and super mario bro.s 3 "the lost levels"

Super Mario Bros 3. It was simple and fun. Super Mario confused me so much with the two jump buttons :P

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island has so many great memories it holds, it's also my favorite SNES game of all time.

Mine was Mario and the Six Golden Coins. I don't know if thats the exact name, but it was something along those lines. I played the crap out of that game on my color back in the day.
