I wonder what is everyone's favorite console re-design? Design wise, which change in look did you like the most?

Did you like the change from Fat PS2 to PS2 Slim? DS to DS Lite? DSi to DSi XL? 360 to 360 S, or PS3 to PS3 slim? Or something else? The many gameboy redesigns?

I think, my least favorite is the 360 redesign, i wish it had kept more of the original look

I think my favorite is the PS2 redesign it made the console so much smaller, while keeping the same look and really making it ultra portable

Whats your favorite and Why?

Indeed the GBM is a sweet change of look and it adds so much more portability

I wonder what Xbox redesign could've been like look-wise?

Thats one thing I didn't like about this gen's redesigns

The consoles (PS3 and 360) didn't really get smaller

I was hoping after 4 years on market (like the PS2) the 360 Slim would be around 50% smaller personally, but meh

I can't imagine the Wii or Cube being redesigned, they are already small enough

One thing I love about the PS2 slim is its so close to a normal DVD player size that it essentially can be a fully functioning DVD player for every room in your house and offer killer software

DS lite was such a huge improvement over the phat.

DS to DS Lite.

DS Phat was just plain ugly and huge. DS Lite looked like it was made by Apple.

Worse was PS3 to PS3 slim, they took away features (fewer USB ports, no PS2 BC, no memory card slots, no install other OS, etc.) and it looked way cheaper to make. OG PS3 looks expensive, new PS3 looks cheap.

I'd say PS3 Slim but my phat PS3 has PS2 BC while the Slim doesn't, I'd say the black Wii next but they still kept it glossy instead of a matte finish, I'm just fine with my matte finish Xbox 360, got the LE RE5 Jasper one, and don't care for the Slim re-design, plus hate reading about issues with it... I have to say I like both the phat PS3 and older Xbox 360 better, guess Wii gets it by default

I really like the 360 Slim. I find it to look sleek and very cool.

Mine is the Crystal Xbox. It changed the ugly original Xbox into something quite sexy.

Anyone think we'll get a second redesign for PS3 or 360? I doubt it, very little chance, but as content gets cheaper, and if Sony and MS want to keep selling their consoles maybe a redesign is in order again if it provides an opportunity to cut costs even further

Its unlikely though

I like how the 360 wasn't even really re-designed. Its the same motherboard with 45nm CPU/GPU on top of each other right? With a big fan and the vents moved? I wish they had actually made it smaller, like 30% or more not , what 12% smaller is it?

DS Lite. I played a DS phat at launch and it was okay, but after laying my hands on a lite, the redesign just felt downright necessary.

Also, the PSPgo is one sleek makeover. Too bad it ditched UMD support, because it looks sublime.

I think the game boy pocket was a vast improvement over the original Brick Game boy that took six batteries I believe? Same with the original DS and DS lite. I also will be the first probably, to say that I really like the PS3 slim look, everyone says it's ugly but I really like the matte design and simple look. I always hated the Spiderman font on the original Grill PS3s.

DS to DS Lite. The Lite is a sexy little box of fun, but her older sister is a fat, ugly monster. And the DS Lite - DSi was also cool. Matte>shiny.

The original Gameboy took four batteries. Gameboy Pocket was still a huge improvement though, I agree! But Gameboy Color is forever :)

The re-designed NES was the best because they made it indestructible.

Oh, I must've gotten confused, it was the Game Gear that took six batteries. I don't think the GG was ever redesigned though, it needed one bad :-x

The GBA to the GBA SP. The clamshell helped protect the screen, it lit the screen (no more funky light attachments needed), had a built in battery, and added the clickly buttons. Definitely the best redesign in my opinion.
