For me it's Rockstar and Naughty Dog. They make the highest quality, most fun, and most content for your money then any other game developer out their IMO.
Bay12 Robust Games (going to be really happy when I don't have to use byond because that engine is a complete pile of ****) Paradox Croteam Bohemia Interactive Fractal Games Egosoft Tripwire Interactive Can't really think of anyone else. The rest were either killed off by publishers' incompetence or sold out.
Rockstar: They make quality games with great value for money.
Naughty Dog: Superb game developers, put so much effort into their games.
Ubisoft (formerly): Was one of my favorite game developers with the Splinter Cell and Assassin's Creed series, then Conviction game along and now I hate them.
Bioware (love their RPG's) Valve (between Half-Life, Portal and Steam, how can you not love them?) Stardock (they're great humans) Bethesda (fallout thank you)
Maxis, Firaxis, Rockstar all deserve honorable mentions too
