Favorite Games of All Time (2016 Q1 Edition)

I am a big list-maker. So I thought, what would be a better first post than to start a running list of my top 10 favorite games of all time!? Sure, it can be hard, even vary hard, to pick just 10 out of literally thousands of something, but I personally love the challenge of narrowing it all down and seeing what stands out most. I also understand the difficulty of making this list "all-time" with regards to some games losing at least part of their appeal due to technology improving. While the release date can play a factor here, I am pretty quick to include the aging and the ancient if those games sill evoke that same excitement that was felt when they were first played. So without further ado, here are my present picks. These are simply the games I love most.

@electronic_eye: I've been working on narrowing that list for quite a while, didnt really start contemplating OAT until recently.

For instance, Bloodborne just recently crept onto the list, as in this past week, played it when it came out, but i bought it again & the DLC plus NG+ put it over the top.

But it could be removed as it's position is shaky.

Some games are so close, like Diablo 3: UEE and Resident Evil 4, but are currently edged out.

Street Fighter II will never be removed from the list but may shift in position, I also doubt Chrono, Megaman 3, or Shining Force II ever falling off, but it's soooo hard to come up with a top ten list, lol.

I guess since everyone else is doing it...

I didn't put my list in order. Too tough for me. I love the lists so far. Different than what I expected. I could chill with you guys. :-p

By far the most addicting games are Blizzards PC games, particularly Diablo 2/Lord of Destruction and Starcraft/Brood Wars. Diablo 2 just missed the list.

I believe there is a distinction between your most played games, the best games overall, and your personal favorites --- which I think is the one that can change the most. Looking back at games in my history; these are in no particular order.

• Yo! Noid --- you got a game in a pizza delivery. The ice stage is one of my 'love to hate it' levels.
• Landstalker... I borrowed this randomly and really enjoyed it at the time. Zelda never gets overlooked, but this does.
• Fighting Vipers. I played this for maybe a minute and I thought it was cool. This is a must have for Saturn collectors.
• PaRappa the Rapper - some guys did one of my favorite cosplays of all time based on this one. It's on the "Otaku Unite!" documentary DVD.
• Syphon Filter. I thought the night vision Sniper mission over the tennis courts is one of the coolest sequences ever. The music is also pretty good.
• San Francisco Rush 2049. I barely played this game. The problem with this game is it has the few minutes of exciting gameplay that most arcade games do. I don't think it translated well at home release price.
• Wipeout 64 - this was a bad port because it didn't have the great PlayStation soundtracks, but that doesn't make it bad. Some of the level theme even reminded me of Battletoads.
• Myst Online: Uru Live... this game has a GREAT start complete with a Peter Gabriel theme song and has wonderful concepts.
• Game Room - It had a great version of Asteroids on it, no doubt about it. It might still be on there. Go check it out.
• Def Jam Rapstar - It has I Get Money on it.

I've never played Pepsiman and that is a shame.
