Ever played one of those games that you felt were soooo great? Had everything you wanted in a video game... But you couldn't actually play it more than once? Some games are incredibly amazing, but only for the first run through em. They're always there to talk about how awesome they are, but they're mostly used as dust collecters or perhaps suggestions to friends. Have any games like this you'd like to share? Here are a few from me:

KOTOR I and II - Amazing stories and overall superb games... but seriously. Who wants to play these more than twice? Onegame on each side of the force?Perhaps people have, but its never been worth the alternate endings to me. I've heard there are several.

Mass Effect - I'd still rate this as one of my favorite games of all time today. I even TRIED to play through it a second time to beat it on the different factions. Couldn't do it. This is definately one of those you play once, then the next time through... It just sucks. Though the first time, its absolutely incredible.

Zelda Twilight Princess - I'd say this is my favorite zelda right after ocarina of time, though its the ONLY zelda I haven't been able to completely beat through more than once. I don't know why. The game just gives off a strange vibe after its first runthrough.

Assassin's Creed - This game was fun while it lasted, but again... After that first time, the game's pretty much worthless to me now. (Totally off subject, but the ending was horrible lol)

Definately some of my favorite games EVER!! Yet I could never bring myself to pick one of them up and play completely through again.

I know what you mean by playing a game once and that it was so great the first time although playing it again would be pointless since you already beat it. Like my favorite saturn role playing game is shining the holy ark when I first played it I thought it was awesome even though it was really short and kinda easy I dont play it anymore because I beat it.Now I just have it as a collectors item since it is in good shape maybe one day I'm thinking it will be worth something on ebay.

I can definitely see myself replaying KotOR. I think I've started about three characters on it, though I never quit made it to the end with any of them.

Bioshock has to be either my #1 game or up there in the top 3. As much as I love it, from the middle of it upward it got excruciatingly tough (at least to me) so I always said it was too tough and long to play through it again, but now, a year later (since I beat it), seeing the article in Game Informer about Bioshock 2, I think I'll go back through it, this time it'll be on the PS3. Since I seen that article I've really really missed Bioshock and can't wait to play it again,

Max Payne 2. It was my favorite TPS of all time until I beat the first one but it just didn't make me want to play it again. I still plan too one of these days.

I totaly agree with your assesment of Mass Effect. Amazing, but boring the second time. Disagree with Zelda though. I can play this game periodically in short bursts over again (not straight through like the first time) just to enjoy the masterful level design of the dungeons. I gotta say, as much as I really liked Okami, I couldn't imagine playing through that ever again. The game is so story driven, and I couldn't imagine reading through that again. I've never been one to read through a book twice.

Not really even my fav long games I play again like FF10...Actually there is Phantasy Star Universe on X360 but I do plan on playing that again. Mass Effect yeh that game completely dies after first completion but I still completed it 3 times. Even Oblivion I have had like 20 characters in total, I got red light just when I felt like playing that game again but when I get it fixed I'm am gonna do everything again and although I have already done everything I plan on breaking the game this time on the one character. I play Zelda anytime, but Zelda TP yeh that did get boring after first time you complete it...but I still ended up completing it twice and about 5 more times because some of my friends keep asking me to get past bits for them...then I end up completing the game again.

Yeah, that's a little strange. This game is meant to be played over and over again. I've probably played it 20,000 times.

Honesty its one of those games, if you even accidently turn your gameboy on you end up playing it until you lose, then you turn it off and 5mins later your back on it.

Any 3D zelda game, Games that were released early in a console's lifespan, when the graphics weren't artistic nor technically proficient at the time, any rpg, any 3D platformer,

And I think everyone can say they'd never play adventure games twice, games like professor layton.

Knights of the Old Republic and Mass Effect are perfect games for multiple playthroughs because they offer a different experience. RPG's in general are great for repeated playthroughs. I replay games a lot and I've replayed most of my favorites multiple times. The way I see it, if I don't have the urge to replay a particular game, then it wasn't really that great in the first place. I don't have any amazing albums that I never want to hear again and I don't have any fantastic movies I never want to see again. It's the same with games. If it's truly amazing, I will replay it.

However, as to everything, there are a few exceptions. Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth is a really great, unique and highly memorable experience for me, but I doubt I'll ever replay it. I would actually like to do so, but the game features extreme difficulty and a virtually broken save system which I'm dreading.

Any game that has a secret within it that you find out about after you beat it the first time. Its no fun playing through a game again that you already know whats hidden. As you can see im being very general about this because there are alot of games that make me feel this way

Dude, that's a classic. Played it in school. I think it was like 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade. An old PC game where you are in a wagon going through the Oregon Trail with whatever friends you wanted (not really actual people just names). You had to hunt, cross rivers and keep your friends from getting too bad sick, awwww the memories. I wish'd I could find that game somehow.

Finished MP2 6 times. I think that's my record for any game.

My list is huge for this question.

Oblivion comes to mind as well as Ninja Gaiden, Metriod Prime, the newer Marios and Zeldas, Psychonauts, Prince of Persia, or many games that are single player. I find co-op to help in replay value.

Oh yeah, how'd I forget Ninja Gaiden? It was my second favorite game for years but it had no replay value so I took it back to the store.
