I'd say mine is beating Persona 3. It's calender based system tells you when the end of the game is, so I went on a 12-hour marathon to get through the final month of the game. NyxAvatar gave me so much hell, but that ending was so worth it.

Every time I beat a race in Mario Kart on the Nintendo DS. I reminds me on the great time I had in my childhood. The same for Super Mario bros.

Me and one of my friends played and finished this game together in two days and I actually do feel like it strengthened our friendship. We had lots of laughs, intense moments of us screaming "hurry the hell up and help" , and us just goofing off in the game in general.

My most fond memory would be playing Pokemon Red, Yellow, and Blue over and over again. Pokemon had a certain charm to me back then that kept me hooked and actually feel like a real Pokemon trainer. Sadly, the more current games no longer have that hold on me at all.

First time I played Super Metroid. First time I played Mario 64. The ending of The Sands of Time. Journey, the entire game. Many many more, but those come immediately to mind.

Really, playing Pokemon Red as a 10 year old was probably the most fun I've ever had playing a video game.

  • Discovering how fun the NES was and trading games with my friends since we only got 1-2 new games a year.
  • Beating Super Mario Bros. for the first time seemed like a huge accomplishment when you're 9
  • Debating which console was better (NES vs Sega G) with my neighbor and usually pissing each other off in the process.
  • Getting a SNES and playing 2 days straight of Super Mario World.
  • Going to the arcade and playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Street Fighter 2, Mortal Kombat, and the NeoGeo.
  • Having a blast with Ken Griffey Jr. baseball and playing lots of homerun derby with friends.
  • PS2 comes out with a game called Grand Theft Auto 3 and everyone I know is all of sudden buying a PS2.
  • Picking up a game called Bioshock without really knowing what it was and having it be my favorite game.
  • Beating all the levels of Left 4 Dead on expert with my kid.

When I finally Shoryukened Zero in Megaman X2.  Man that bugger was annoying to hit with that.

Super Castlevania IV's Dracula fight and the lead up to it.  Room of Close Associates and then that epic (although easy) confrontation with Drac, amazing.

Deus Ex was pretty sick back in the day, got me into the Sci-Fi genre all around, not just gaming but movies, literature etc.

Playing Resident Evil 2 with my bro and old man.

Playing Tiger Woods Wii with my old man and brother and making a drinking game out of the putting.  Holy sh!t that was a good time.

Beating Ozma in FF IX.

Richter mode in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

Beating Castlevania 3

----

Just way too many man.  Waaaay too many.

Hell Yeah, nagging my partner while Wesker beat the living daylights out of him was the most hilaris video game moment ever. I think appeal for President Evil 5 came from how co-dependent the co-op was, 50 percent of that game requires both players to be in-sync and on their toes, unlike Gears Of War or RE6, the co-op in there was not needy enough. No worries though, I believe Portal 2 will help rekindle those Magical (needy) moments.

Dude, Super Mario 64 was my first videogame too! I got it (with Nintendo 64) as like a combined birthday present with my brother. I don't think I would have gotten into videogaming without my brother. I was going on 6 in November and without him showing me how to play it, I probably wouldn't have bothered. And my parents had no idea had to hook it up either. Took a while to set it up.

I'd say mine is beating Persona 3. It's calender based system tells you when the end of the game is, so I went on a 12-hour marathon to get through the final month of the game. NyxAvatar gave me so much hell, but that ending was so worth it.

Beating Persona 3 was memorable for me as well because I slaughtered NyxAvatar. My main 4 characters were at level 99 and there wasn't sh!t that NyxAvatar could do about it. It pretty much just had to take the ass whooping.

first genuine good gaming memory is being home alone for the weekend and playing shining force (first rpg experience) on accident. that was like my first moment of getting addicted to gaming.

Playing my first Gameboy Color game: Pokemon Red. I had just finished 2nd grade and played the game all summer long! My sister had Blue version, so we traded for pokemon that weren't found in each other's games. That was the beginning of my love for RPGs!

Not knowing how to play Skyrim at all, and the first day of playing it.

Beating Far Cry 2.

Playing the Delta Force series when it was still good (especially Landwarrior) and strategizing with another player what guns to snipe with behind the enemies base/armory. Also the good Co-OP on there vs the AI. Then on DF2, traveling for 10 minutes to get a killer spot 1500m away to snipe with the .50 cal. So much nostalgia. RIP :(

Learning how to play Minecraft, when it wasn't so easy to me that or became boring and tedious.

Actually, I take that back. I have many but one that I think I will always remember was my first time playing Minecraft and my first world. That feeling of not know what the hell was going on in the game, that feeling of dread as night creeped closer and closer and you had no shelter to protect yourself...or torches for that matter, that feeling when you found diamond for the first time, that feeling of going from a total new comer to the f*cking master of the world. That...that is a gaming high that was amazing and I feel I will never be able to discover again.

Don't you have any other special gaming memories that take you back years? Perhaps other memories that made you feel like ****ing master of the world?

I'm looking forward to playing Minecraft when it's eventually released on Disc in a few weeks

Not really. What's wrong with Minecraft? Current, sure, but give it time and it'll be just like every other game and what memories and nostalgia they leave behind, also I was one who got in during the Alpha stages back in 2010 so that's a three years difference and growing everyday.

Although, if I had to say something else that wasn't this gen (which is stupid but...) I guess maybe...the first time I played RuneScape and/or the first few days of playing Morrowind.

When I first played the Minecraft demo on 360, I wondered what the hell all the fuss was about to be honest.. But after downloading it again a few weeks ago and realizing it's potential, my opinion changed about the game, especially after viewing some of the vids on Youtube.

It's a niche game, no doubt; but there's definitely potential for some really awesome times to be had in that game for sure.

I remember the day we purchased Sony's groundbreaking console. We raced home from Toys "" Us and I started up the only game we had. The game had come bundled with the console, it was The Lost World: Jurassic Park. Excitement possessed me. Dinosaurs were a huge interest to me as a child, I'd amassed numerous books on them that to this day I have never read. But now, now I had a game. ______________________ parallax scrollingparallax scrolling websites
