Favorite Opening Sequence (Possible Spoilers)

I've played a lot of games, and there are some absolutely killer opening sequences. What's your favorite?

I actually have two. The first is the opening CG movie from Final Fantasy VIII where Squall and Seifer are duking it out with their gunblades. The second is in Devil May Cry 4. Kyrie is singing a haunting operatic piece as Nero shreds through the streets on his way to the chapel; then when he gets there, Dante drops through the roof and starts wrecking everyone in the room.

Good stuff that.

it seems like there's so many, but none are coming to mind right away,

i think metal gear solid 2 opened with the scene with snake jumping onto the tanker, but i played that years ago so i could be wrong

this gen i thought the prison break at the beginning of saints row 2 was really cool, and i'm willing to bet money that the opening of resident evil 5 will be close to the top of the list

FF7 and not just the opening, the entire first 10 minutes knocked my **** off when I first played it.

This gen probably Fable if only for the music.

I agree fully. I love the intro to FFVIII. I also think the intros to FFX and FFXII are pretty cool.

It would have to be the Chrono Cross opening scene... That was beautiful... and the song!!! THE SONG!!! It's the song my cell phone plays to wake me up every morning (since cell phones allowed you to put some mp3 music - to this very day).

Now I need to listen to the song right now!!! xD

My favorite opening sequence would have to be the original Dawn of War's opening cinematic.

The best part of that opening sequence is just how well it captures how brutal the 40k universe is.

Final fantasy VI's

The music in it is just so good, and it just gets me thinking that there will be an epic quest coming up.
