What's your favorite Paper Mario game if you played all three? For me, its definetly between the first and second. The third wasn't too good, in my opinion.

What do you think?

Thousand Year Door, not a doubt in my mind. Most endearing characters yet; and the game had so many themes and so much to do! The third only developed a few select characters and relied on gimmicks like 'flipping'. The first was great; amazing and close to the second but lacked support characters as like-able as TYD.

I like Thousand Year Door, because it had so much awesome stuff, like sidequests and a secret character. I played the first, but haven't finished it, so I'm not a fair judge. The third game wasn't really a Paper Mario game, it was more of a normal 2-D Mario game with a twist, but I liked that as well, but it can't compare to the other ones.

The first one is the best and is actually my favorite game of all time. I anticipated TTYD and it didn't let me down and was amazing. Paper Mario for N64 did something that most games can't make me do. I couldn't put it down. I had to beat it. It has no grinding. Isn't extremely difficult but isn't easy either, each partner has such memorable personalty's, each world is very well designed, and playing as peach is probably my favorite part of the game.

I played the second one first, so that's when it was first new and fresh to me... but even with less impressive graphics, I found the original more enjoyable. Personally, I thought Super Paper Mario (i.e. #3) to be completely awful... I couldn't even finish it. I was like a dozen hours in and it just never became fun for me, even if some of the perspective shifts were kinda cool. I thought a lot of the art design in #3 was also really lazy... the other games were more visually interesting and colorful, which is ridiculous to me.

i picked up ttyd on the low low for like 10 bucks without ever having played the first one... absolutely loved it, found EVERYTHING , then immediately went out and bought the n64 game, then got pretty disappointed with super paper mario. it's a good game, but it pales in comparison to the first two. ttyd is my fav by far.

I prefer Paper Mario Thousand Year Door, since it was long and still just as fun as the first one. It was like the first one, but in my opinion they just improved on things such as graphics, story, and gameplay, and I loved the Bowser and Peach mini-stories after each chapter. The one thing that really pushes it past the first one is that Bowser is not the main bad guy (a rare ocassion!). The 3rd game was good, but way to short.

The first one is and will always be the best in the series. TTYD is also very good, but Super Paper Mario just made me sad... If you're going to make a side-scrolling Mario game, keep Paper Mario out of the title.

I liked the first but the second was slightly more enjoyable.

Super Paper Mario wasn't a bad game if you saw it as a platformer and not an RPG.

The first onehad much better boss music though...

I thought all 3 Paper mario games were great. While I do like the RPG format of the first two better, I still really enjoyed Super Paper Mario's gameplay. And if Paper mario is known for one thing, it is that it has awesome boss battle themes!

I never really understood how people could think "Super paper mario is not a real Paper mario!" For one, it is a Mario game that is all paper-like. Two, SPM retained some of the RPG aspects of the past two Paper m,ario games, such as the badge system, and switching between characters (as well as pixels), and the level up system is the same as well, I believe. and lastly, SPM, like the past two games, was seperated into chapters.

SPM felt like a paper mario game to me. I don't care if you don't like the game, but still, that doesn't make it any less of a Paper Mario game.

I'd say Paper Mario 1>Super Paper Mario>>>>The Thousand Year Door. I didn't really like Thousand Year Door, not sure why, but Paper Mario 1 was probably my favorite N64 game and Super Paper Mario was great. =)
