What is everyone's favourite type of loading screen?

Do you like a simple picture of the level, a mission brief, a minigame, information about the world, stats, no loading at all, or something else.

I quite like ones that have relevance and usefulness. Where they might tell you some of the lore of the land.
Also, the ones in the latest FIFA games are pretty good. Just mask the loading with actual playing in the arena.

I might've made this a poll but I don't know how.

I like the Call of Duty loading screens. With a satellite map showing you where I'm going, briefing and sit-rep.

I quite like the Icewind Dale II loading screen, it gives you a picture of the place you are visiting, and some useful tips too.

Gah. I forgot which game it was.. But there was this one loading screen that lets you play this little mini game while your game loads. Pretty cool.

I thought some of the loading screens in Mass Effect 2 were pretty cool. Although the down side is that they do get repetitive at some points...

Well of course no loading at all would be excellent, but since that's not the case... Before every chapter in MGS4, you see snake standing there taking a smoke break. It's an awesome loading screen because you feel like you and Snake are just taking a break from the drama in the game. And Snake's look changes as the game progresses.

I love the old Guitar Hero loading screens. And the loading screen for Tekken 5's menu when you first boot the game up is awesome, you get to play Star Blade :P

Bayonetta has the most useful loading screen for me, it quickly helps me recap on how the combat works when I haven't played for a long time. I also like with the MGS4 loading time, it has some interesting tips along with Snake just chillin' in the background

Anything that's interactive (I think Fifa 2010 and and Bayonetta qualify as mega awesome.

Seriously, why the asterisks do Japanese developers not put interactive loading times in their long boring ass games with battle load times that take a hundred years to load, change screens, switch to menu screens, level up screens, and then finally the world frickin map.

i liked the install screens in mgs4. it really set the tone for the game. they tell you not to smoke while snake is enjoying a cigarrette, they give you video game health precautions like only playing for a little bit or sitting away from the screen that you obviously arent going to follow, and other things like that.

Probably Fifa 10 as it keeps me occupied rather than falling asleep watching a loading bar. I also like the Fallout 3 loading screens as the images can be quite funny, and the tips shown on screen can be rather useful.

The only loading screens I recall are Star wars battlefront where it beeps while zooming into the map, and KOTOR where it tells you star wars trivia while taking sometimes up to four hours to load. It was THAT bad.

Rival Schools, an old game for the PS1, had character art for its loading screens. It made waiting for the game pleasant because the art was so good. Capcom needs to get cracking on a new Rival Schools.

I agree with everyone else: MGS4, Fifa 10, Bayonetta, Assassin's Creed. Also DiRT's loading screens are cool because they show you cool stats and you can move it around and zoom in and out and all that good stuff.

DiRT - it gave you selected stats to see things like your fastest speed, furthest jump, number of wins, favourite tracks, distance travelled etc.

There was a Dragonball Z game somewhere that you could spin the analog stick and the faster you did it the more saibamen came out.
