Well, i'm stuck between 3 pretty good games. How did i come to this decision?[Pros] -FF10 is one of the best ps2 games and i coincidentally have the guide at home. . .for extra stuff. . . -FF12 has amazing graphics and i didnt get really far in it until i lost it.[maybe 8 hours] -Shadow of the Colussus because IGN ranked it as the best ps2 game EVER. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- By the way, I don't own any of them. I'll probably get through two of them. unlikely all three since 10/12 are SO long. Bad things i think about the three choice[Cons] -FF10 its pretty old so graphcs arent that good -FF12 one major flaw is the lack of character developement. -Colossus pales in comparison to the other two, story-wise. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So, Which one should i get first? Please state WHY

FF10 is the best of the three, imo. Some things: -Graphics don't matter. It's the player that matters: wether or not they're too much of a douchebag to care about the graphics to let it affect their overall gameplay. -I think we can all agree IGN aren't that good anyway? -Me and my friends found FF12 to be way longer than FF10 -I thought IGN ranked San Andreas as the best PS2 game of all time? IGN, just like any other website or publication are essentially professional opinion makers. Their reviews, despite how professional they claim to be are still opinion base, and no better then anybody else's opinion.

I didn't play Shadow of the Colossus , but out of those 2 FF games, FF10 wins easily, at least in my opinion.

Without a doubt you should go for Final Fantasy X which is by far one of the best games in the series and maybe the best game on the PS2. Still Shadow of the Colossus is a great game and unique concept which shouldn't be missed ether but Final Fantasy is Final Fantasy :D

My friend, after beating the 6th colossus yesterday on my BC PS3, I can wholeheartedly recommend you Shadow of the Colossus. It is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that can be witnessed nowhere else. Colossus' story doesn't pale otherwise, I would say it's better because how amazing it by being simple. Colossus is a magical game that is amazing, and that's an understatement. If I may (SPOILER) please you with one of my favorite bosses so far: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-uYzlHunQ4

I actually thought the graphics in FFX were by far the best on the PS2, of any game, although SOTC does look amazing. Nice playing on the PS3 too :)

edit: to answer your question, I'd say go with FFX or SOTC. Both look amazing, FFX focuses on a love story, the combat is pretty good and the characterisation is surprisingly well done, considering it's by Square and the subsequent disasters that have followed FFX. You also forget how linear it is, especially compared to FFXIII *spits*

That said, SOTC is a totally unique game, 16 boss fights, loads of explorationand puzzles make it pretty unique. I'm ebaying my copy next week as I don't play it anymore, but I won't forget it in a hurry either.

Shadow of the Colossus is truly amazing but still it lacks in story and in depth and also in the main soundtrack and afterall it is a complete other genre from FFX

I HIGHLY suggest Shadow of the Colossus. It is my personal favorite game of all time, and have beaten it several times since I've gotten it. Its not for everyone, I'll give you that, but if a person likes it, they usually like it a lot. In fact, if you're interested, here's a link to a review from one of the most critical reviewers (and funny) out there (http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/1924-Shadow-of-the-Colossus ). Given the current price since its an older game, its extremely worth taking a chance on it.

In most people's opinions FFX is the superior of the three, with Shadow of the Colossus coming in right behind. Eitherway, you should try and get them both. They're both games that you just can't miss.

um idk about that one, but IGN just did there top 100 and had a whole video on youtube talking about SOTC. ________________________________ i like how barely anyone mentioned ff12 :p hmmmm the concept of no monsters to fight and barely any story in SOTC still pisses me of though. and i feel like FF10 might get boring after some time. becuase there ARE always those dull moments in ff games. if you know what i mean.

I just went and look that. FF10 was #5, Shadow of the Colossus was #4. FF12 was in there but lower. I forget the exact number for that one.

Go with FFX. That game is strong in all aspects. It''s a lengthy adventure that you'll enjoy and remember. FFXII has virtually no character development and a story that's hard to care about. It's like Final Fantasy without its soul. Shadow of the Colossus is way overrated. There's virtually no story or characters, the controls are clunky, and the camera is atrocious. The challenge of the game comes from coping with its problems. It's pretty and the Colossi are epic in scale and design, but that's about it.

Shadow of the Colossus. There is nothing else like it and it rocks. FF is overrated in my opinion and just keeps repeating itself with each installment. SotC on the other hand is something completely original and a very beautiful game. I still play it today

FFX is intolerably obnoxious. SotC is cool but very over-rated.

I'd go for FFXII. It'll last you well over 100 hours and the hunting sidequests are awesome.

I think your pros and cons are a bit off. FFX for instance doesn't have poor graphics even by later PS2 standards and neither does FF XII have amazing graphics. SOTC, If you haven't experienced this game yet then you NEED to. Nuff said. I would of thought you can get all of these games for cheap by now. Either way each one of them is worth a purchase.

I'd recommend FFX. The character's were far too underdeveoped to make FFXII enjoyable to me. Shadow of the colossus is short, but sweet, but short lol. So in comparison, definitely FFX.

FF10, if only because it's the only one of the three that I've played for more than an hour.

But seriously though, it's got a really good story and fun battle system- one of the last of it's kind.

More than worth the 15$ you'll prolly find it for.

there was a thread today at system wars mentioning ps3 BC and although we already know of the team ICO HD games coming to ps3 the article mentions MGS and FF collections on the way. So if you have a PS3 go for the HD ico pack and if not it all depends on what you're in the mood for.

I've never played either of those FF games (I know), but I've played SOTC and I'm playing it at the moment in fact and I must say it's an amazing game. :)

Shadow is awesome.

I'd chose Rogue Galaxy over either of the FF games, though. Between Shadow and RG I'd buy RG.

Final Fantasy X is great for the storyline, sidequests, and blitzball

Final Fantasy XII is great for its battle system, sidequests, and open end exploration

Shadow of Colossus...well I haven't played this game...

FF10 for me easily, it was the last of the great Final Fantasy games imo, I hated FF12 It was a mix of the boring characters and weird combat system (Im an FF Dinosaur :P) and Shadow of the colossus also bored me, very overrated game. so in summary FF10=Good SOC/FF12=Bad.
