Well I never played these games, I found them at $29 so all I'm asking is if it is worth the price for both these games when there are DS remakes available.

I highly recommend it. Just for Chrono Trigger.

It's a good version of the real FFIV, but it's a horrendous port of Chrono Trigger. I'd recommend you take the DS route on both of them, if only because CT plays better. For FFIV, they did a decent job with the emulation, though the DS game is still better.

Actually certain Frys Electronics have it brand new and sealed for $14 that's where I got mine, at least near where i live anyway they always have at least four of them for some reason like they got a huge shipment and they always have a supply.

And looking at it from the collectors perspective, is this bundle actually rare? because if it isn't I might as well just buy the Chrono Trigger DS version, after all it's the main reason I may buy it.

The thing is I'm not from the US, that's why I'm asking if it is worth it since the DS version of Chrono Trigger is sold at $44 and if I can get CT and FFIV together at $29, it just ends being basic economics. :P

Go for it. I played the PS1 port of Chrono Trigger. Had no problems. It's a good bundle for sure. Considering I always found the SNES/PS1 version of FF4 better than the silly 3D remake on the DS.

It's worth it. I bought this collection some time ago for my PSX, and I still love it. Some good RPG classics right there, go for it!

I'd get it hands down though just for collection purposes. :D Though as mailer said, the best port of both games is on the DS.

I would definitely recommend against it. The Playstation ports of these games have killer loading times and vastly inferior sound quality (as odd as it sounds, the SNES had better sound quality when the PS1 wasn't using MP3/CD grade audio). The two combine to really reduce the quality of the experience. I'd say the SNES versions remain the definitive versions of each game. Chrono Trigger had a great DS port but the new content wasn't really special and I wouldn't recommend any of it. FFIV's DS port looked pretty good but they changed the gameplay mechanics and the game was (IMO) a lot less fun. The original was challenging but struck a good balance, the DS remake redid all of that and made it so that enemies were either too easy or could (literally) kill your entire party in one or two attacks - there just wasn't much middle ground.
