FFVII on its way to PSN

This according to the ESRB.

While I doubt I'll get it, it's about time, just to end the weekly whine threads about the lack of such a game.

Edit: Other games that popped up on the ESRB lately include XS Junior League Soccer, Spec Ops: Airborne Commando, Dead in the Water, Contra Legacy of War, and Mobile Light Force.

I won't get this, but I'm glad that all the people trying to fool the losers into thinking Final Fantasy 7 was a rare game will not be able to charge more than $15 anymore.

From what I understand, Sony lets whomever owns the rights pick the price.

Also, both Symphony of the Night and Resident Evil are $10, so it seems like the heavy hitters will go for $10-15, and the standard game go for the usual $6.

Surprisingly, they're only charging $10 for it, which was unexpected. It's also 1.3 GB, which is about 400 MB less than the version that is (was) on the Japanese store.

I bought this and Medal of Honor last night... the sad part is that I already own them.:P I just like the idea of being able to play them whenever I want without discs.

I hear ya. I spent $10 to download the XBLA version of Ikaruga cause I didn't want to hook my Gamecube up. Being lazy is EXPENSIVE!

While FFVII is indeed the my favorite game....time has not been kind to it graphically...just like every other PSone 3 D game....it's painful on the eyes....Omni-Slash

I find the old school graphics charming, in their own way. Especially the PSone classics with the super mega cheesy bad FMV scenes. Those are awesomebad. I used to think that was the future of gaming. (where is Tom Zito when you need him?) The only thing about FFVII that really sticks out like a sore thumb is the overglorified lego characters outside battle. Every thing else has held up better than I thought it would, quite frankly.

I've never played it before and just bought it, though I havnt started it. Is the game hard?Olorin_

No, they're just dumps of the PS1 games.

I think the reason is efficiency. I remember reading on the HK store in the product description that when the game prompts you to insert a disc, hit home and you should see an option to change discs. What they probably did was just copy all three CDs, as they're roughly 600 MB each and thus the 1.73 GB or whatever their file size is. However, this wastes space. The only difference between the three discs in FF7 are the FMV's. The engine, the assets for each level, the music, and all that stuff appears on every disc (which is why you don't need to switch discs if you go back to an older location). This takes up roughly 200 MB or so of space it would seem, hence the 400 MB in space saved by not repeating the same data three times. Also the US description does not include the same mention of how to change discs.
