I like FF7 more.
I enjoyed the characters, story and I like the materia system. Also I dont like FFX grid system.
the only thing X trumps VII on is graphics. i mean seriously, everyones expecting you to singlehandedly save the world and you have to walk from one side of the continent to the other? at least in 7 you get multiple modes of transportation throughout the game (and no one except for the people in your party EXPECT or are even ASKING you to save the world). in ten its "ok i walk here then here then here then here then here" ad nauseaum. don't get me wrong, X was fun, just not nearly as fun as 7.
FFX is better in my opinoin due to the red arrow
I had to look at a walkthrough one to many times to find out what to do next in fFVII

i love that red arrow. i think every FF game should have that.
searching for something for hours really turns me off.

you know if you press select in ff7 it shows you where to go right?
it shows doors and ladders but not where to go. Like on the world map.
I voted for FFVII and are you sure FFX story was lame? :DFFX - story was lame, and predictable, but i admit that the gameplay was highly addictive.
FFVII - Story was innovative and unique (in its time) the gameplay was also addictive....including its supperfun sidequests.

FFX is my favorite FF game. The battle system itself makes it better than any of the previous Final Fantasy games. It's more strategic - you can swap characters in and out of battle, you can actually plan your battles i.e. summoning aeons will delay a character's attack, etc. The characters have more depth and felt more human/realistic.
Except for the music FFVII is archaic. The battle system is crap; it was random, button mashy, kind of like a game of musical chairs of sorts. The story is probably the most convoluted story of any FF game.
FFX is the overall better game. FFVII was great for its time but has not held up well at all. FFX is still very much playable today where FFVII is not, that's why fans want a remake so badly.Bigboi500The first time I played FFVII was after FFX was already classified Greatest Hits and I still prefer FFVII :|
But most people don't like playing games without current or recent graphics so I guess you're partially right...

The antagonists in the storyline were shown on a silver platter, making the plots completely predictable.....and finally Yuna and Tidus had zero chemistry, their so called feelings was almost jumping from "A" to "D" without building a strong friendship with "B" and "C".

Well mostly what I was talking about is the awful controls when in the field. No analog support.Story FFVII>>>>>FFX
Gameplay FFX>FFVII
Overall I say FFVII is the better game but FFX is closer to my heart because it was the first one I played.
both games have a great story. if i could only pick one, i'd say ff7.
i had some boring moments on ffx and the most boring part on ffx is blitzball.
You obviously haven't played all of FF 10the only thing X trumps VII on is graphics. i mean seriously, everyones expecting you to singlehandedly save the world and you have to walk from one side of the continent to the other? at least in 7 you get multiple modes of transportation throughout the game (and no one except for the people in your party EXPECT or are even ASKING you to save the world). in ten its "ok i walk here then here then here then here then here" ad nauseaum. don't get me wrong, X was fun, just not nearly as fun as 7.

********SPOILER ALERT*************
no i played the whole game and yes at the VERY END you get an airship.... when its no longer useful except for going back to places you've already been or getting to what, 3 "hidden" places?!?!?!?!? lame, super friggin' lame.
*********END SPOILER ALERT**********
I chose X, because for whatever reason (likely raised expectations from game like X and KOTOR) I can no longer replay VII, I would rather leave it alone in my mind's nostalgia department.
VII was great and I'll never forget it, I even called into work the day after I bought it, but it's over now.
FFVII and FFX are really hard to compare because they both changed up the RPG scene on their respective consoles. And if we are going to play that game, why not have a FFVI vs. FFVII vs. FFX so we can get some SNES nostalgia up in here as well.
I enjoyed both 7 and 10 a lot, but I'm so tired of hearing about how 7 was so amazing compared to every other game when it really wasn't. I mean, yeah I played the game start to finish at least 4 times, I won't deny I really loved playing it, but then I fell out of love. 10 is probably my favorite overall because it was more fun, and that's really the deciding factor when I'm playing games.
Edit: I also only played 10 once, I did everything humanly possible in 10 and then I put it away for good. That might also be why I am more fond of it, I didn't sit and relive it until I couldn't stand it anymore.
