I just bought a new power cord, final fantasy 9 and a memory card because i recently found my PS1 I played for about 3 or 4 hours and the next day i tried to load my saved file and it said data corrupted... so i restarted thinking maybe it was just something wrong with it so i played for about an hour then turned off the system and tried to load that data and it didn't work either... is it because of the memory card?

it could very well be the memory card , is it an official Sony card , or a 3rd party one?

the reason I ask is that the 3rd party cards have more of a tendency to corrupt files

its proboly the memory card, if you have a ps3 just play it on that cause it saves to the hard drive so you cant mess up the memory card, also if you do continue to play with the memory card rememebr the first 2 rules to any rpg ever

multiple saves and save often

It's a faulty memory card.
