Final Fantasy 9 is a great game!

I put off playing FF9 all these years, because i was lead to believe that it was a mediocre Final Fantasy game, but I was so wrong! I love the game! The characters and setting is so charming! I can't believe I put off playing this game for so long, it is way better than FF8 IMO, Gamespot's score was so off on this one, who agrees?

1. FF12

2. FF10

3. FF7 (WAY too overrated IMO)

4. FF9

5. FF8

Yes, Final Fantasy IX IS great. However, I think you're top five is way off. Final Fantasy XII wouldn't even be in my top five. And, in my opinion, Final Fantasy VII IS the greatest Final Fantasy made. It was a huge technological jump, and huge jump in terms of how the series told its many stories. All Final Fantasy games since VII have done it pretty much exactly like VII did (until XII, which did it in a terribly way, in my opinion), but Final Fantasy VII really did it in a way it had never been done before. It was revolutionary, and it remained an excellent game in its own right while still being innovative.jalexbrown

Final Fantasy 9 was a great game and still is. However, for being a final fantasy fan, its hard to believe 6 didnt make your list. IMO 6 was the best final fantasy game period.

Ok i see. But yes check out 6, once you give it a shot you wont be disappointed.

Final fantasy six is one of those games that I still enjoy playing. The main bad guy is totally insane. You will not be dissapointed.

FFIX rules.

I am now playing IV and X at the same time. Both are amazing games. We shall see if they hit me with the same emotional wallop that IX did.

Level scaling was good. Who would want to fight level 5 monsters when your a level 20?

My order would be:

FF7 or 9

4.ff legends 3

and in my opinion, ff8 was the worst ff ever.

3. FFIX

Those are the best ones in my opinion but I haven't plyed them all. FFX was pretty good but I thought FFVIII and FFXII were the worst of them all. I thought FFX-2 was more fun than those 2.

FF12 is still my favorite FF though, with FF6, Tactics and FF7 close behind it. (In that order.)

Sure, FF12's plot isn't that great compared to past FF's, but the game as a whole is FUN.

FF9 is one of my favorite FF games, you could have 4 people in your party at one time instead of 3.

Personally my most fav FF go in the following order

1- FFX

2- FFIX

3- FFVII - WAY OVERRATED!

4- FFVIII

5- FFXII

AT THE BOTTOM: FFX-2

Those are all the FF I've played... so I haven't played the earlier ones... even though I own Anthologies, Chronicles and Origins - dun have much time lately!

Personally FFIX has the most charming characters, the coolest settings (castles and all that stuff), awesome "side-characters" like Beatrix and the best FF music in my opinion! I love this game and it's sooo nostalic!

I absolutely loved FFIX. :D My main reason was the fact that every character had a specific job. I like the fact that I can't have every character have every spell in the game and have every ability in the game. :) Just makes each character even more unique.

Also, I loved Vivi. He is probably my favorite Final Fantasy character of all time.

The reason why I played 3 of them (FF8, FFX, FFX-2) is because...

FF8 - found a Brady Game strategy guide of the game in school! Stupid student who left it. Hahaha!

FFX - first FF of the previous gen, I gave it a try. It was ok. Graphics is the best! I hope to see a FFX graphics in PS3, IMO it is better than any PS3 graphics. Silky smooth graphics = not good.

FFX-2 - sequel of FFX, bad game!

VI and VIII, my friend.

And Dirge of Cerberus. Best ever, hands down.

really though i liked all but 8. i couldn't stand the magic drawing system and the "make whatever you want by spending hours collecting items even though that cool sword doesn't matter much since you can just junction spells to make yourself stronger" system.

i really liked Final Fantasy 9. A little over-simplistic... I hate having to hold back to draw out the boss battles. (but the same could be said for most of FF7's boss fights).

I have to go with...

3. Final Fantasy 6 (FF3 in NA)

4. Final Fantasy 9

the only "bad" FF would be either Mystic Quest for the SNES or FF3 for DS (the job system was a mess in that one).
