final fantasy for ps2

Just ordered a ps2 and a bunch of games, thinking about getting an final fantasy game could someone tell me what there like and what 1 i should start with.

This is all my opinion of course...

FFX = awesome

FFX-2 and FFXII = not so good

You should get the PS1 FF's too!

Like the others have said the pinnacle of the PS2 FFs is FFX. So this is a must have, and it is pretty dang cheap too.

The three canonical FFs from the PSX should also be purchased. FF8 and FF9 you can find for a pretty good deal, but FF7 will give you some problems here and there.

Get FFVIII for PS1 and FFX for PS2. Then say goodbye to your friends and family for the next few months...

oh and don't get dirge of cerberus! i dont mind it, but its not exactly a good game that i'd recommend to people.

but do make sure you get the PS1 FF's! 7, 8 and 9 are all brilliant games. there are ports of the older ones as well, but i'd only recommend them if you're willing to put with loading times. tho if you play them on ps2 with the fast load option it's not so bad.

FFX and FFXII,don't bother with FFX-2 Unless you wana play PS1's FFMonsieurX

FF X-2 is a weird beast. Most don't like it because the story is crap and very, very girly. Basically, a trio of hot chicks go around the world looking for dresses and clues to help them find Yuna's lost boyfriend (oversiplifying a bit but that's really what happens)(also, I'm pretty sure I just plagiarized this last phrase). The game also lacks "stucture". However, the battle system is super fun, and that alone made the game worth it for me.

FF X is great, most will agree with that and XII is awesome too. However, the opinion on XII is polarizing because of substantial differences from previous Final Fantasys. Some hate it, others love t.

I loved all 3 of the PS2 FF's.

FFX is the best of the bunch though, although I really enjoyed FFXII's encounter and battle mechanics.

Final Fantasy X has the best Storyline
Final Fantasy XII has the best gameplay mechanics...

You can get both together for less than 20$ so I would suggest giving both a shot.

Final Fantasy X is my favorite. FFXII is pretty damn good too, but I'd say that FFX has better gameplay.

Even though FFX is more fun to play, the story and scriptwriting are pretty terrible. FFXII has excellent cutscenes, excellent scriptwriting and excellent voice acting. I love watching the cutscene in that game, they're top notch cutscenes for the PS2. But I think I like FFX's cast of characters more, they seem more lovable despite the cheesy lines.

Final Fantasy X is an amazing game, so I'd definitely recommend that one. X-2, not so much, and I can't speak for XII since I haven't played it.
