Which of these Final Fantasys is the best? They are all good in their own ways, but which is the best in your opinion?

I hate FFX with a passion (don't ask me why it will just turn into a Long rant). As for FFXI it was the only MMORPG I was able to get into too. FFXII was one of my favorite FF titles. The only thing that bothered me about FFXII though was the decline in story after the StillShrine Dungeon, Vaan and Penelo shouldn't had been characters in the game they had so little to do with the story. Also the quickings were cheap and the summons were lame (except when you fight them) and Vanye didn't really cut it for a main villain (He was nothing compared to Kuja, Kefka, Seph, multiple villains in FF Tactics)
FFX is my favorite. It rules, i love the characters and story and just about everything about it and it was also one of my first ps2 games.
FFX was so god-aweful...everything about it just bothers me. Don't get me started on it...
FFXI I haven't played because I don't support Square-Enix wanting to charge for service on top of already paying for XBOX Live.
FFXII I have tried sooooo hard to make myself like it, but I just can't.
FF1, FF4, FF5, FF6, FF7, FF8, FF9 I absolutely love.
FFXI is a huge MMO you can't expect Square not to charge for it. It would be the same case if WoW or Aion was on the 360.FFX was so god-aweful...everything about it just bothers me. Don't get me started on it...

I don't play those either.
For one, it's the principal for me, paying for the game itself, then paying for the internet, then paying for XBOX live and then a monthly charge on top of that for the privilege to play 1 particular game.
For two, sometimes I play a game heavilly, but then go weeks or sometimes months without touching it. The idea of being in the middle of an epic battle with other players on a quest or boss battle sounds awesome...but I don't think they would find it awesome when I abruptly stop playing for whatever reason (all my gametime is chaotic).

I can unnderstand that. It would be a waste of cash to pay for a MMO ATM. Heck I do not even have the time to play the single player games I own now lol.Every Final Fantasy is fun and I have them all from IV through XII.
If you want to play Final Fantasy as an MMO wait for FF IV it supposed to be a vast improvement over XI.
I enjoyed them all but I have to go with FFXII. The storyline was engrossing and the graphics were the best yet with a huge world that was just fantastic.
BUT ... when we can get the next entry I have high hopes but that will not be a legacy.
so for someone who never played FF games, what is a good start to get me into the series? dont tell me FFVI, this thing is old.GazaAliFFX is a great start. And if you like it go to FFVII
X was amazing. Never played XI, XII was pretty good. Definetly X was the RPG i found more innovative.

yes :DGazaAliHmm I see haha. Since this is your first FF and JRPG. I sday give some of the titles a try just do not give into the hype you might be disappointed or maybe not. Have fun with what ever title you decide to play.

You were in the same boat as me as I never played a RPG before so I started out with FF X. I would strongly recommend this game. Basically FF X got me into the whole RPG genre. You may think FF VI is old, and I thought too at one stage, but once you start getting familiar with the later titles, you'll want to play VI :)

FFXIII, honestly.

FFX is relatively new, but it feels more dated to me than FFVI did simply because it doesn't make use of the PS2 hardware as well as FFVI did of the snes hardware. FFXIII is probably the first Final Fantasy to be released first in a generation to age well.
