there's been no news on it since TGS 2011 and I never played the game before should I wait bit longer for the news on this HD one or should I just give up and play the PS2 one

Right now Square Enix probably has a small team working on Versus 13, the 13 team working on Lightning Returns, and pretty much everyone else is finishing FF14. , Im playing FFX for the first time right now and im enjoying it, i dont care that its blurry.
Thats how Squeenix rolls now. Announce something interesting then forget about it for a few years. Just kidding....?
Maybe you should go ahead and get the ps2 version. Normally I'd say be patient but honestly that might involve you waiting A WHILE. Besides trophies, I haven't heard any news of them adding anything new in the game anyway.

It's probably going to be a long while or a long time before we hear anything new about the FFX HD remake. If I were you, I would just pick up the PS2 port and play that for the time being.
I'd only care about the HD FFX (don't think they said it was a remake) if they took out Tidus....worst character ever created.
Square needs to actually make this, it's been tba for like a year now. I got so excited when I heard about it and now I'm just waiting for them to finally freaking make it!

I don't know why there's a lot of hate for Tidus. I can totally understand the whole laughing scene, which was awkward and out of place, but he's not that bad of a hero that people make him out to be.

Probably because he looks like Meg Ryan.
Although, you're right -- he's probably one of the better Final Fantasy protagonists. And at least he doesn't have painted-on abs like Va'an.
Last bit of news had Square declining to comment on the game's status. Could have simply said, "Things are still going," but they didn't. Makes me think the game isn't shaping up well.

He has an annoying voice, the whole "my father doesn't love me therefor I hate him" crap got very annoying within the first hour of the game. Not to mention the stupidest looking character ever created.
His presence, the same with Wakka is what destroyed FFX for me and a lot of people hate Tidus cause they just did not like him compared to previous FF characters.
How can a previously released game not be shaping up well?Last bit of news had Square declining to comment on the game's status. Could have simply said, "Things are still going," but they didn't. Makes me think the game isn't shaping up well.

Hell if I know. All I know is, if the remaster were coming along nicely, they probably wouldn't have declined to comment on its status.

I'm hoping it releases in time for my Final Fantasy runthrough but if it doesn't oh well, no worries

Why is that crap annoying? That is a real issue among young children and their fathers. Ever seen a documentary called Absent? You should - it speaks directly of that subject very well. As for the fashion creation for Tidus, he didn't bother me all that much.
I don't recall hearing a lot of people hate Final Fantasy X though. To me, Final Fantasy X is the last true Final Fantasy to happen. Once 11 through 14 happened, that's when it really went downhill. Although I must say that Final Fantasy X was also way too easy, especially if you made sure to keep everybody's levels in check and their stats updated constantly on the Sphere Grid.

To be fair, they kinda leaned into that a little too heavily. It's not that it's a bad character trait; it just kept being brought up again, and again, and again, and again, and... you get the picture. Not hard to see how some would find that annoying.

I suppose it can get annoying in the game, I guess I can concede on that. But at the same time, I really didn't think too much of it until it was brought up and then resolved at the end, I think.

Kind of like Metal Gear Solid 4 did with nanomachines. Except that Final Fantasy X's story wasn't an incoherent mess punctuated by two hours' worth of brain diarrhea at the end.

Silent Hill HD shows that almost anything can be screwed up in the 'right' hands.
