So... I'd heard from gamer acquaintance of mine that he really enjoyed the new Final Fantasy, but that unless you were a die-hard FF fan, that waiting six months to a year would be wise because he predicts a significant price drop in that time. I wanted to get some other gamer's opinion on the matter because I'm neither a super dedicated gamer, FF fan (7, 10, and 10-2 are really all I've played...) or in a great situation to drop sixty bucks on a game. Also, I use (regular) XBox, PS2, & PC platforms for gaming. (No 360 or PS3.) I'm moving in with a guy that has a PS3, so I'd have access to one, and my girlfriend has a 360... So I COULD get it and be able to play it.... But... If I'm going to drop the extra cash to get it now, I'd like to know it is going to be worth it. And lastly, Ive heard from word-of-mouth that it's available on PS3 & 360... Is this true? What about PC? Any information from a better, more knowledgeable gamer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!!!

No PC version is in the works at all. It's a great game, but I wouldn't buy it until you seriously can dedicate to it. It takes a LONG time for the battle system to fully unfold, and for the story to really get moving, people like to joke around that FF13 has the world's first thirty hour long tutorial, and really, that's not a huge stretch. If you do get it, get the PS3 version. It's technically superior in every category.

Thanks for the info!!! I had a pretty good feeling that that is what I would hear. I had heard about the tutorials taking a lifetime, and also that the new style of battle.I also had heard that you view the battle from an aerial viewpoint. Is that accurate? That's too bad about no PC version... Since I started gaming on my PC, I've become quite fond of it.

Thanks again for your opinion, much appreciated!!! I'm new to Game Spot and an amateur gamer... I need all the help I can get.

Battles aren't from an aerial viewpoint, though against larger screen filling enemies like the Adamantoise it can pull back quite a bit.

I think FFXIII is great, and I actually liked the beginning parts. Once I understood the battle system (which didn't take me too long), the game got quite enjoyable to me.

Funny, I'm a major FF fan (I've beaten everyone literally up to now) and I've been totally addicted to White Knight Chronicles and have even played a couple hours of Bayonetta in between my marathon sessions (and I dont even like DMC style games). I need to get over this addiction and play it.
