First Mutiplayer Experience ?

Mine was Quake 2.

I managed to figure out how to log onto a server. Typed "am I online?"

Then I saw a rocket coming right at my screen and died and some guy started trash talking.

Then I became addicted.

One day another player told me to stop, to turn back and forth while he observed. I was like why ? He then told me about "Mouselook" instead of using just the keyboard :P

Halo CE. I wasn't really interested in online multiplayer until then.

1v1 via modem in Spectrum Holobyte's Falcon for the Commodore Amiga (1988?).

Halo 2 and I won my first match. It was addicting...

Online? Doom II.

But I didn't really get into it until Quake 2, Jedi Knight, and X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter came out.

Rampage on Sega Master System

Halo CE was my first multiplayer game. My friend hosted LAN parties every couple of weeks. First game I played online was Halo 3.

Banjo Tooie, I think.

My first online game was Left 4 Dead..wasn't really interested up until then.

GTA4 was for consoles, and that was fun but unorganized experience.

Before that, I think I played some tactical board flash game online, cant remember the name of it:?

Battlefield 2142. so many memories in that game over the years

I'm gonna say Starcraft. But then, the first few times out it was mostly just with friends 'cause my parents were convinced I was going to meet an online predator if I played with strangers.

For simultaneous multiplayer, Contra for NES is the earliest I can remember.

Wow, so long ago I don't even remember exactly. It was either double dragon 1or 2 or some old tennis game for the nes.

If you are speaking of online, then that would have to be Diablo 1. Glad I bought it back then.

Counter Strike. It was how I got into gaming overall

I want to say that it was one of the early Mario Party's. After seeing my brother play Ocarina of Time, I was captivated by games, and I found out one of my friends had an N64, with Mario Party 2 and 3. I beleive that they were my first MP experience. Either that, or Super Smash Brothers. Either way, I had a blast, even though I was awful at both games.

Mario Kart for the SNES..Me and my bro played that to death.

PC gaming

Delta Force 1 - It got me hooked and didn't let go untill BF1942 came out.

my first online experience was with CoD united offensive in august 2005 and the first map i played was Brecourt, got addicted straight away.

Offline? Can't remember. Probably Rush 'n Attack on the NES.

LAN? Doom co-op.

Online? Wolfenstein Enemy Territory. Good times.

Think it was something like netrek, but that really doesn't count I don't think.

So will Call it Merdian59 after that. Be almost interesting to see some of that today, with how much everyone is so spoiled. Start seeing some of these shooters online, that everything you owned dropped when you died for who ever killed ya to pick up, might actually give some interest to some.

Did give a reason to survive, rather than racing out dying over and over. Little challenge to it when you are naked because you died with no weapon.

I doubt anyone would know this game, but my first multiplayer experience, as far as multiple people playing at once online goes, would have be an RPG game called Tele-Arena.

Online...Red faction on PC, so much fun. Thankfully there are still a couple active servers hangin around if i ever get a craving for it.kidcool189
